I fished there 45 years ago. Caught some massive flatties about 4 km off the coast. The river was teeming with fish then & we got prawns at night with nets & lights.
That's my "personal preference" mate at the beginning of the show, as Black Bream are such a slow growing fish, I prefer to enjoy the fight then release them, but in many places across Australia you are welcome to take a feed home if need be.
