This is why you need to READ ALL YOUR CONTRACTS. Additionally be weary of using professionals all referred by one individual. As a loan officer I have referral partners but I always tell my clients to get 3 opinions in every area and I will never refer all three. You want a lawyer? Here are two I've worked with and trust, and you need to get a third opinion from one you find somewhere else.

I don't think it's always obvious, and I can see how many can fall victim. Everybody knows real estate builds wealth, especially flipping when done right. It's not hard to see how somebody can see a seemingly successful professional and get caught up in a scheme.
