IFR flight in a BRAND NEW CESSNA 182 

I've got a T182T on order and your video has me thrilled with my choice. Really looking forward to actually touching one at AirVenture. I hope Cessna gets the demo ready in time.

In my neck of the woods. Nice! We make the run from Houston to T82 quite often. Its also a regular pit stop bringing the grandaughter home to visit. Great food, people, and airport. Even did it in the 182T G1000 before the SR22. Video jogged some fun memories. Thank you!!

West Houston airport. Where I soloed and learned to fly a long time ago. Was called Lakeside Airport then and looked much different. A startup airline planned scheduled service to Dallas Love soon after and put a new runway and was slated for one of the first MLS systems then. Neither plan worked out but got the new runway and terminal building out of the situation. Loved IFR when stratus prevailed over the area.

I like those shades 👍🏾👍🏾and it’s pretty cool to see the 182 alive and modernized in 2022 blue skies

As a non-pilot I am amazed at the technology in the new Cessna planes the GARMIN G1000 NXi avionics is totally cool as is the air-conditioned cabin. The 900NM range is also impressive.

When you first said Fredericksburg, I was thinking Maryland. T82 looks like a cool place to visit.

Okay the officers club and hotel were really nice, but I really loved the interior and instrument panel of the Skylane. I especially like the retro paint and Cessna graphics on the exterior! Great video! Thanks

Nice flight guys, loving the retro colour scheme too. Just a question if I may, when going through your leaning procedure I noticed the hottest CHT at 395F. Is that typical with those power settings? Seems quite high, certainly for advocates of Mike Busch and his Savvy Aviation info. Also, does the Garmin display percentage power on the screen? Do you ever operate lean of peak in the cruise?

I once got put on a 25 mile final doing the ILS into my home airport. Of course that was the day where I had a 50-60 knot headwind in the 182

What privilege, a new 182, stunning interior and panel - great paint job too, thought it was a retro scheme (almost fooled me at first - very similar to my dad's old C150B) not sure about the Cessna script on the side though. BUT I wouldn't say no to one if offered👍😊😊 You make a great team by the way👍😊✌️ And what a cool airport and facilities, flying in the US must be a dream✌️✌️😊😊

West Houston! Goodness I haven't been there in a decade...the old timer that use to run that place was a force of nature...if he like you, you were golden...if he didn't, you need to find a new airport...

Worked IAH approach many years. West Houston was called Lakeside back in my day. We used STARS and SIDS almost exclusively because of high volume. Fun fun fun.

From a1957 to a 2022how does it compare, about the same speeds.

I have worked on aircraft all my life and have always liked red, white, and black paint schemes. I had good company as Armand Hammer painted his jets red, black and white also.

Beautiful production. I am considering this platform (plane) as the 206H is almost impossible to acquire. I noticed that you have the Garmin 275 ADI/HSI/MFD and that is exactly the perfect back up!

Is it possible to swap the display so the PFD can be in the right side and the MFD on the other and if not, can the MFD do split screen so as to show the PFD info on the left side of the MFD and the terrain map on the right side of the MFD?

What!! When i heard t82 i said dang y’all headed my way. I just stayed there may 23-24. Hope you got out to enjoy the rich culture there. It would be a killer trip for you and the hubbs to comeback and enjoy the area. And go to LBJ’s ranch and see the first air force 1. I have a pvt grass strip about 155nm from there and i go down there a few times a year. i know u like to drink so Believe me those Germans and Gillespie county is the place to be 🤣 Also I’d like to add, you said you took off out of West Houston. Don’t confuse anything in Houston with being Texas. Just a bunch of city Slickers, you get out to Fredericksburg in that area you’re around some real Texas loving Germans. Even though it’s a tourist area there’s some great folks down in that country.

Is your MFD turned off or is it just the angle on the screen that makes it appear off in the early part of the video? I LOVE the point scheme fo that 182! I have a 1979 Piper Dakota with an all-new Aspen Avionics and Garmin Flight deck with STEC 55X AP but kept the retro paint job.
