I enjoyed watching, as an old pilot it was fun to see all the nav com tech, we never had in the old days! It was high tech to have an ELT, or even a transponder. Prior to GPS and video games I can recall looking for town names on water towers to get map locations on VFR sight seeing Flights. Ah to be young again, the changes I’ve seen will pale in comparison, to what the next 50 years holds. I can see a time Bernoulli’s principle and internal combustion engines will not dictate our ability to navigate the skies.

My first airplane was a 182...a 1978 Q model. Almost forgot how the prop would pull the nose down on start up....brought back fond memories. Nice to see the 182 is still a 182. 😄

Mindy & Steveo, thanks so much for the fun flight!! The Cessna 182 has been my all-time favorite single since I first learned to fly back in the early 80's. A close friend had a mid-70's model 182 and he let me fly it quite regularly so I took FULL advantage every time!! I haven't been able to fly left seat for several years due to some health issues but my doctor has promised to help me get thru all the red tape AFTER I get the health issues taken care of. I hope to make it back to left seat as soon as I can. These videos are a Heaven-sent to me so please keep them coming. Thanks again. Regards, Ernie

Sometimes it's good sit and do the radios Steveo, especially when you've got a competent pilot like Capt. Mindy to fly you. Makes for a easy peaceful flight, when you have 2 good people to do both. Worked the radios for a friend earlier this week..and he said I'm still smooth on them, even though I'm half blind now(why I lost my medical) and it was a great flight. Those modern avionics in that new 182 make it a completely different experience than the old ones in the old days. That gets so nuts going into sun-n-fun, but you two got executive service, and what a great time..am sorry I missed it this yr.

Damn they still have Banyan Maintenance. In my days when i was learning to fly at fxe they had a DC3 parked there being retrofitted for flight. Thanks for the upload.

It is incredible the equipment and pilot aids they have in small planes today. I learned to fly in the fall of 1974 and all we had besides a transponder was VOR and our two eyes. GPS hadn't even been heard of yet.

PIC was based on charm, smile and beauty. No brainer ! Plus, I was pleased to see she didn’t make a mistake that many of us are guilty of. I’ll admit, I’ve left on several trips, completely forgetting to take my inflatable blimp. It’s a common oversight, even with checklists. 🇺🇸🛫

I lived in Ft. Lauderdale from 1979 to 1991, I flew out of Ft. Lauderdale Executive all of the time. My office was next to the airport. It's always been a great airport.

When I was working as a paramedic, yelling “clear!” was to defibrillate someone. Well, I suppose that and when Mindy yelled it both served the same purpose in starting up something. 😎

One of my best flying memories is flying up Melbourne and back to Ft Lauderdale. It was fun finding the it at night for the first time. The tower was VERY helpful!!

Good vibes to this flight, enjoyed the take-along. Really nice plane, has everyhting but a PEZ dispenser. Like instrumentation, easier to composite one's concentration with the new sys. Spectacular scenery during the flight, really enjoyed this. Thanks so much.

Doesnt do it for me, its going to take more than a blond to pull my interest away from the turbo Lancair Mako, you can put two fold up bikes in the new larger baggage door and cruise above 220kts. Even Tecnams p2010 are making these stone age Cessna's look and perform outdated as hell.

@@brianlong201 Fellow Veteran were you a G Chinook pilot ? Do you own your own Cessna 182T Turbo ? If so does it have auto pilot & air-conditioning ? How long have you had your private pilots license ? When I was in the Air Force I regret now not learning to fly the Air Force might have paid or help pay for the flying lessons etc . I had a friend on base in Kansas who had a PPL . We rented a Cessna 150 Aerobat & went flying . He let me have the controls & I couldn't keep the plane steady we bobbed up & down like a cork . We never flew again . It was a mistake on my part not asking him to go flying again .

I was AVNX plus crewed. I learned how to fly when I was 17, been flying off and on since. I use my plane now for family trips, and work. No AC, G1000 cockpit. I might be upgrading to a Turbo 206 next year since I fly out west for Elk hunting as well.....Or another Turbo 182. ;)
