There is certain magic about these old Sepultura tunes. Created by teenagers years before they mastered their musicianship, they prove that sometimes it is more about perfect match between riff and beat than advanced sophistication, and most of all about true talent to find that groovy combination.

Every band practice we had as teens we played it. Still one of my favourites. The groove and energy from the 80s and 90s albums is just magical

Was in a band when I was about 16 years old and we literally ended every show with Troops of Doom by Sepultura.

I used to draw what I thought of "troops of doom" in my notebooks as a kid. Fucking love this song. I love the Schizo version as well

One of the best metal drummers, at least for me. He created his own unique style, mixing metal, hardcore-punk, and adding some deep ethnic-tribal elements, so you always recognize his drumming! I only wish that both Cavalera brothers hadn't left Sepultura...

Igor simplesmente inaugurou (ou inventou) os "riffs" na bateria. Aqui, no Morbid Visiions, é o início...uma (ainda) pálida visão do que veríamos, mais a frente em Arise, Chaos A. D e Rotts, os quais - pra mim - são obras primas de composição, inventividade, precisão e groove (pegada), nunca jamais vistas numa banda de Trash Metal. Se não vejamos. Eu consigo imaginar Igor tocando no Slayer, mas é simplesmente impossível enxergar Lombardo fazendo o mesmo no Sepultura. E por favor, apesar das comparações, não há nenhum demérito. Lombardo é, inclusive, quem eu gostaria de ser. Entretanto, Igor é aquele cara que é seu ídolo, é inatingível. Eu só posso agradecer por ter crescido tendo a sorte de gostar de rock e acompanhar de perto todo aquele início. Obrigado ao Azul Limão, Stress, Robertinho do Recife - e seu incrível Metal Mania -, Dorsal Atlântica, Taurus, Volcano por serem o início disso tudo. Vocês foram foda e influenciaram toda uma geração...

Me lembro de ter contato com o Igor aqui no Rio de Janeiro(Baixo Gavea). Ele mal alcançava a bateria... Íamos para o Caverna ver os shows de Dorsal Atlantica, Stress, Azul Limão... Depois escutávamos Venom, Slayer e Exodus até nao aguentar mais... Bons tempos!!!
