They should just record a new album. It's a shame to see these two amazing musicians living from the past. They recorded an amazing album like Psychosis and didn't even play it live. It's been "return to Roots" and "return to Beneath/Arise" since 2016. In 2023 Chaos A.D. will turn 30, and they will probably do the "return to Chaos tour" LOL.
Word, but this is mainly a Max/Gloria Cavalera's idea... since they can't own the Sepultura name, they will squeeze any penny they can from the Sepultura old catalogue.
1st of all THNX to sickdrummermagazine for the footage ! I have a question for drummers there since i'm not a drummer, is Igor playing without in-ear monitor ?!? It's ok ?? I've never seen a drummer without them playing live.... Thnx !🤘🏻
@@JellyRoger_XIII It is not mandatory. In this case, he is using stage/floor monitors. Most drummers who don't play with a click don't use in-ear monitors. Search for drum cams from drummers like Dave Lombardo or Max Kolesne (Krisiun) and you'll see it. It is really common.
None of us are getting any younger… it’s time the original members of Sepultura get together and do a reunion tour, put out a Live album from those shows, record a new studio album and tour in support of that album…. Then we can all die happy. And my plan just made you guys a few more million clams! 🤘🤘 DO IT!👹
Jairo wasn't on Schizo. What they can do is touring with his band The troops of doom, and play some classics with him. Hope they don't stop playing this material live and add some Schizo Bestial/Morbid on it
@@Nissardpertugiu You are wrong. According to the Sepultura biography written by Silvio Gomes (longtime Sepultura roadie, even before Andreas join the band), there were just 2 songs that were not even fully ready. Screams Behind the Shadows and Rest in Pain.
Enjoy the music everyone 👍 stop bringing out your notepads trying to catch all the mistakes. Stop comparing it to other drummers. Embrace the music, and the fact that their still jamming. Lets have a good time friends 😎👍💯
@@pedroscifo2580 Yes, but unfortunately he doesnt do it 'properly' anymore. He doesnt hit the hi-hat and the ride double time as he used to. I guess you have to be a drummer to understand it, but yeah, he is kind of "cheating" by "halfing the beat" with the ride hand either on hi-hat or ride. Still monster drummer though with a lot of power and aggression.
@@kazarmageddon Hi friend. I understand what are u trying to say to mee. As a drummer and metalhead like 15 years. You are right that's not the proper way to play it good but isn't "" bad. It's a way to add some color to the rhythm you can alternate the 2 ways when u play. A hug
@@kazarmageddon you serious? He’s been playing like that for years lmao that’s the English skank beat not the American double time stuff serious aggression instead of being technical
@@gort9623 Yes, I`m completely serious. He is been playing like that for the past like 26-7 years - yes. From mid 90s. I`m aware what I`m saying, also I`m aware about the 'double time' hi hat is skank beat / thrash beat. If it is the way he plays it, this PRACTICALLY is traditional blast beat in slower tempo. The traditional blast goes the hi-hat with the kick and the snare alone. I completely disagree that playing it like he does makes it more 'aggressive" - actually quite the opposite. Playing it with double time sounds way more aggressive due to constant hi-hat sound or the ride cymbal ringing. Yes, in a way the double time beat is more technical due to the simple fact that your right hand speed has to be up there to match kick/snare hits. Goosh, that was a long post. Anyway, no pun intended - I freaking love Igor's drumming no matter what. Brutal drummer.
I love how easily he can play Desperate cry, playing it slower, more dramatic way, wether cheating at beats or not. Yet he added few tones/changed them the way it still sounds perfect, not like many others tried after he left Sepultura. Im glad they are going this tour, Iggor and Max started Sepultura, like Max said this is their own thing and im glad they came back whatever happend.
Caught this tour last weekend in Utah! Did not disappoint! Iggor CRUSHED!!!! Also love how he mounts his floor tom on the rack, front and center and has his ride in its place. Very cool and original, not to mention practical. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I’ve always wondered how these seasoned Metal musicians that still to this day tour extensively thinks about having to play for the 2000th time to same songs written while they were just starting out as professionals. They must be sick to the core of the banality of the compositions.
but the idea of this show, from what I saw them talking about, was bring the songs from Sepultura's past, Cavalera has more contemporary sounds in Soufly's songs etc... Sepultura with Andreas doesn't seem to have that level of energy that Max brings it today in the old songs, I don't know if it's because they only have one guitar today with Andreas playing...
Irmãos Cavalera a alma do Sepultura, querem reunião pra que? Eles são o Sepultura, desfrutem deles e que tenham muita saúde pra continuar a fazer barulho pelo mundo.
God damn the skills this legend has keep impressing me every time I watch him. I've seen them live twice in the 90s and he still hammers those drums and the middle Tom control is unbelievable 🤯🤯🤯
His drum kit from 1998-2006 era was intense AF!!!! I miss those days so much! Also his work on Against, Nation, Roorback & DANTE XXI is phenomenal!!!!!!
Got a chance to hear Iggor & Lombardo(Testament) at the Majestic Ventura Theatre within a few weeks of each other. My buddy thought Iggor was more intense & dynamic. I'd have to still go with Lombardo though. Tough call, Iggor is sick. They're awfully close.
When Max and Igor left Sepultura that band was NOT Sepultura anymore. Just like if you take Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul away from Pantera they are no longer Pantera. Just like if you took Eddie and Alex Van Halen out of Van Halen they are NOT Van Halen anymore. The Sepultura that continues to play is just riding the coattails of what the band formally was and in my opinion they should’ve used a different band name. That band will never exceed the real reason Sepultura is so popular which is what Max and Igor built with albums like Arise, Beneath The Remains, Chaos AD.
Let's face it. Easiest thing in the world is to play a thrash beat without playing 8th notes with the right hand (only playing half time). Still of course a creator of iconic beats in the nineties.
