I have a 1989 mazda b2600i , the engine turns but does not start. I think it's the distributor. Is the distributor on the 1989 unique to that year. Nobody sales them. Only for 1990 thru 1993. Thank you so much

I understand checking to make sure your at top dead cylinder #1 with the engine off, before checking timing. But omce you start the engine doesnt that rotor spin? Just trying to figure out why it matters that cylinder #1 is at top dead center, then starting engine? Everything changes top dead center once you start the engine. What would be the difference if you didnt check #1 for top dead center before starting the engine to check the timing ? Thanks for your knowledge. Just trying to understand and by all means i am not saying your doing anything wrong. I guess my question is what does finding top dead center on cylinder 1 do? vS not finding top dead center . Wouldnt it read the same timing that it would if you didnt find top dead center of cylinder number one before starting to check the timing. Please enlighten my brain. I seriously want to understand. Thanks for qll your vids. I own a 1990 b2600 and really need to learn how to check and adjust timing.

According to 1992 MazdaB2200 Workshop manual. Tighten the cylinder head bolts in two or three steps, torque 59-64 ft-lb. I can send you tighten order if you need. Spiral order staring from the middle bolts out.

What if my distributor is pointing at cylinder 4 while the crankshaft is pointing at 5 btdc? I tried moving the wires so it would be correct but would not run. Put it back to what it was and it fired up but not much power

Hey Kurt. Throttle position sensor value at IGN switch ON: 1) accelerator pedal released - approx. 0.5V; accelerator pedal fully depressed - approx. 4.3V according to Mazda b2600i repair manual. Let me know how is your repair or if you have any questions. Cheers.

Некоторые детали по подвеске, ходовой и рулевой подходят от 2200 и 2000. 2600 обычно 4х4, так что задне приводные 2200 и 2000, детали подвески отличаються. Но точно не скажу, не сопоставлял. Какая у вас Мазда?

Hi Joe! Glad it helped you out! On b2600i most likely radiator got clogged up or water pump worn out. Check also thermostat, coolant level, fan belt, ect.

This is not the correct way to set the ignition timing on a efi bravo you need to put a jump wire on the green plug terminals so that the ecu will put the ignition into base timing mode that way the ecu will stop adjusting the ignition timing when your adjusting it
