You are speaking facts. As a very ethical and reputable breeder who does everything right by the breed, including hog testing, health testing, conformation showing, and breeds for temperament, it pains me to see so much crap being bred out there. People out there just throwing dogos together, no health testing, lying about pedigrees, breeding with allergies and so much more. People don't do their research and dogos end up in shelters around 2 years of age. Thank you for always advocating for the breed. Your education is valuable in the world of the dogo. I always tell people, that the cheap dogo you get now may end up being an expensive vet bill later. People need to stop buying from back yard breeders as it just encourages them to breed out of standard dogs. They are in it for the money and not the preservation of the breed.

Don't let this breed go the way of the American Bulldog. I see many videos of people showing how tuff, big, and mean their Dogo is. I was told that at a local shelter, there were quite a few Dogo's there. Not good. These dogs in the wrong hands, especially if they were not bred correctly, can be a nightmare. These are one of the best breeds, they deserve to be kept as intended.
There is one other, more cultural explanation, for irresponsible breeding. Some people that I've encountered want to breed their dogs because they believe it's "natural" for a dog to have babies and it fulfills their desires/instincts. Do they want money? Yes, I suppose. But some really feel devoted to reproducing themselves as humans and translate that into whatever they think dogs get out of it. I do not agree with this but I think people are sincere when they express it in these terms. Without breed standards, there are no breeds. Without breeds, there is no basis for understanding a puppy and it's just a roll of the dice in getting a "dog." I took the ugly duckling from a litter with strong lines. He's "pet quality" and I could not be happier. We're not all meant to be models or professional athletes. Leave the breeding to the professionals.
All I wish I could do Here in the USA is to improve the breed for it's intended purpose is improve the breed by adding DNA from the Queensland heeler to make it better.
