Great Video! Quick Question Please, my turbine requires 14 channels. Does the receiver need to have 14 channels or does the SRS take care of the extra channels? Radio is DX20
Great video, but I do have a quick question for you. I have a Royal that is already setup and I have test flown the model. I want to use the internal gyro, but if I use the setup assistant will it clear my channel settings or just use what I already have already setup. I setup each of my channels myself in the royal. The way you say it in your video it sounds like it will reset all settings on the royal..clarification would be great.
Hi Moemettter, it would indeed reset parts of the Royal. You will be best setting it up manually. Please check out this over video I have just released, it's the second half to this one and explains how to setup and adjust manually (rather than with the setup wizzards as per the first video) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lVK6mFqbXl8.html Hope this helps, if not let me know!
Martin thanks for your videos. They are great. One question, In the flight mode assistant process, once you are stratified with the gain and turn the gyro off, can you turn it back on during the same flight or do you need to land and power it down to keep the settings?
Can I disable the gyro completely? Also does the Mercury store settings if recievers are removed? I.e. a model is sold minus recievers, if the new owner buys the same type of recievers will that aid/shorten set-up time?
do you have a setup video on how to setup functions on powerbox mercury srs using a futaba sbus or similar. curious how i add functions like airbrake, brakes, retracts, doors etc. trying to figure it out so i can add jetronic air valves to functions on my radio but through powerbox. tia
Hi Martin I have just put the Mercury srs in a pilot extra 330 92inch , my question is can I mount the powerbox around the other way than what you have it in the vid , so my sats ports facing the engine and the Servos ports facing the tail Thanks
Lynn Williams Hi, yeah, no problem. As long as you install it at right angles (0°, 90°, 180°...) you can install in any direction you want, even vertical. Just make sure to perform the setup with the unit in its final position :)
Dear Martin I see you test Top RC Odyssey now I need to set up gyro with powerbox mercury for first flight what do you recommend to set rudder ailerons and elevator the gain in FM2 FM3 in what percentage? Hai inviato furthermore, always activate altitude assist on all 3 axes? finally I set the airspeed factor to 3 is it right? thanks for your support
Hi Alfawaz, you can set up the iGyro manually in a similar way to you did for the rest of the Powerbox, check out this other video showing how! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lVK6mFqbXl8.html
Hi Martin! I have seen your videos and found to be very informative. However I have the following questions. I have a JRXG8 and will be using g a XBUS rx to connect to the powerbox. Firstly, what is the wiring or how do I do the wiring/connect from rx to PB Mercury SRS without GPS. Secondly, do I connect all servo leads to PB or receiver? Please do let me know how to do this first setup or is there a link to any video tutorial? Thanks and regards
Check the manual for the actual wiring diagram for JR as I am not sure which receiver port is used. But you connect receiver to Mercury (Rx1 and Rx2) and all servos to the Mercury (outputs A, B, C, etc...)
@@abhi5960 Two receiver still recommended just due to the fact that all signal goes through single wire... So if anything happens to that single wire and you only have one rx you are dead... Two adds redundancy in many ways...
Hi Martin, I desperately need a Mercury PB without GPS in India. Please help me of you can ship (any special prices) one as there are no sticks in India.
Martin - Thanks for the video. Q: I ran thru the assistant and all the surfaces we're reacting correctly when I moved my jet around. When the setup assistant was done, the gyro does not seem to work. Do I need to run the Test Fly Assistant before the gyro starts to react?
During setup, gyro gain 100% is given temporarily so you can easily see direction of correction. All is then returned to 0%. You will need to either run the Flight Assistant (recomendable) in which you setup the gain in flight as required, (run it once on the ground to understand fully how it works, and then re do it, which resets to zero before flying) or add manual gain settings starting very low and on a trial and error basis... hope this helps!
I am using a AR8010T receiver. Do I use SRXL OUTPUT or X-Bus output? When in auto learn on the SRS, It won’t go past the mode switch learn mode. Can’t get the OK dot to light. Won’t let me go on. Can someone help?
hello is michael here i was thinking of getting the futaba 16iz can the gyro gaine be set up from the hand set with a knob just the same as spektrum thank you micnael
Good cold morning . Could u tell me how 2 get my bluecom 2 talk 2my murcury powerbox.it keeps telling me that no device been found. Happycrismas and new year graham
Hi Graham, after connecting the Bluecom, you need to enter the menu in the Mercury, and the last option of the main menu (on page 2) is PC CONTROL. Select that, and it will then "activate" the Bluecom and will allow you to connect to your phone/tablet/computer. Just as a heads up, currently Bluecom with the Mercury only allows updates. All settings must be made via the internal programming on the Mercury itself. Good luck!
Hi Martin, can you confirm for the first flight test, 1st go to test fly assistant, calibrate stick movement, then FM switch needs to be in FM2 at zero gain an take off? If you take off in FM1 the gyro programming of gain wont occur. Have I got this correct? Just seems strange to have the switch for gyro 'on' for flight. Also I actually moved the gain in this menu in FM1 to check gyro directions, then managed to go back to zero gain. Cheers Andy
Hi Andy, it doesn't really matter if you take off in FM1 or FM2. In both cases, before the gyro "turns on" you will also need to have the Gain channel set to Zero, so basically the gyro is going to be off either way. The only reason it says to take off already in FM2 is because you can easily see the steps on the screen passing and you know you are "good to go" for the setup and its one less thing to think about in flight...
@@MartinPickering-PickeringRC Thanks Martin for the reply, I will take off in FM2 at Zero gain. I tested switching from FM1 to FM2 but the gyro didn't start. I have gone through the setup now about 10 times, will just have to run at FM2. Another question, I set the landing gear to channel N on Powerbox and when I use switch on TX the screen on PB monitor flicks very quickly. I guess maybe no issue but curious why it would do this?
Yes, it is fully compatible with both Fasst and Fassttest receviers with an SBUS port. I have R7008SB in one of my jets with this Powerbox so no problems at all
