Why did i not see this in time? My scout was torched 30 years ago it was a 79. It killed a part of my soul watching it get towed away. Till this day it brings tears to my eyes. I let it go in my mind that i would probably never have the opportunity to have one again. Nice job guys! She's a beauty!!❤
Very happy to see you guys didn’t LS swap it. Nothing wrong with the LS, just way over done. I rebuilt a 345 for a buddy, got the heads milled and custom pistons, 9.5-1 compression and mildly ported heads, Comp 218@050 cam and MSD Atomic efi. Runs very good. It’s in a Scout 800A.
Yap, sorry to say but the ls is such a better option, for one it’s way easier to get parts for, more power, better fuel efficiency, more available, easier to add mods too, starts right up any time any temp, not to even mention how much support and help you could get if you get caught chasing ghost
Nice job!! If I won this Scout I would keep it for the rest of my life. I kick myself for ever selling my 1972 Scout II. I loved that truck. This one is even better looking than mine was, I love it. I would give it a good home. 😎
It had a bent axle shaft, didn't realize it until after filming and saw the wobble! We've already fixed it with a brand new shaft, bearing seal and studs. 👍👍
I might have missed it, but does this have the factory TH400 trans? I really dig the look! Likely worth the winner (me?) installing a vacuum pump to fix the brakes. Its a super common thing with bigger cams.
