I've been disabled since I was 52. I'm 54 now and will die without my social security and food assistance. I get remarks because I'm young and don't "look" disabled, but my medical records and constant excruciating pain prove it. Dozens of doctors, 5 judges and the government deemed me to be disabled, I didn't. I used to feel so guilty, but the judge who finalized my case reminded me that I'd worked my butt off for decades and paid into the system more than enough to qualify. I pre-paid for it financially and with my health. Sadly, my medical problems won't get better.

I'm an 81-yr-old retired teacher. We do need a dept of educ., but we need one with common sense that can set reasonable standards for all schools in this country. Every student in a public school needs the same basic education so they can start out on an even playing field. We also need to find a way to help finance schools in states with a poor tax structure.
Reasonable standards are generally in place. REDUCED funding and diversion of funds are causing the problems and have been for 40+ years as Republicans keep defunding all services in the US and particularly education which is why are they going after the department of education. Uneducated people cannot see what is happening in front of their eyes because they do not understand government. VOTE💙
