I live in a highly progressive liberal suburb of Atlanta. We hate MTG and everything she stands for. MTG's district is in rural NW Ga. which is not far from where the movie Deliverance was filmed. The ignorance of that electorate, who elected her twice, is mind numbingly astounding.
Oh that’s funny. We live in an affluent tech city/suburban area north of Atlanta filled with foreigners like Californians (us) and people from all over the world. We never venture into rural areas because the few times we have encountered people like MTG.

I’ve had it as a Christian (Lutheran) being lumped in the same bucket of crazy and criminal dysfunction as these others who’ve hijacked the faith for their own selfish greed, gratification, and power. Jesus was all about confronting power, greed, and every other kind of abuse. I’m a seminarian serving in a rural congregation. Do you know that my teaching pastor was accused of being political in her sermon on Matthew 5… the Sermon on the Mount of all things! She and I were absolutely flabbergasted at both the sheer ignorance and the audacity of this person. Fortunately, there are only a couple of these folks, but still. This was the same lady who looked at me sideways during one of my sermons where I pointed out that Christianity and the church isn’t a club and we’re not bouncers deciding who’s in and who’s out. Our only job is to make space for everyone at the table. Period. (This is also the same gal who has a bone to pick with me because I’m gay and married and been with my husband for over 36 years.) I'm agnostic, but have a close friend who obtained his Master's in Divinity and was a pastor for some time before having to leave for medical reasons, and he has very much the same mindset when it comes to Christianity as you do, not about forcing dogma on people but about compassion and inclusion. Religion needs more people like him and you and fewer hypocrits with little understanding of the texts they claim to venerate.

What we saw may have just been for show. She's demonstrated some of the worst exercise techniques I've ever seen. Proper form requires a level of coordinated mind-body control that I'm doubtful Greene has the capacity to maintain beyond 1 or 2 repetitions.
@@handl3869 I'm no fitness expert, but I use weights as part of my exercise routine and that's terrible form that just primes you for injury. You don't whip the weights around - you take it slow and steady, breathe, lower the weight back down to safely handle the weight and target the muscle groups. The way she's doing it you could drop the weight on yourself or tear a muscle with those sudden, jerky movements.
