Ikari Warriors was a fav of mine back in the arcade...When one time I got there and saw Victory Road for the first time I was so excited because I didn't even know it was coming out...👍🙏
My fav game of all times is Ikari Warriors on the CPC and later on ZX. I used to play this one on the CPC also, but never finished it. Well I think it's time.
Reminds me of Midway's "Total Carnage" which came out around six years later: - Wacky world where you fight weird enemies, and the main antagonist is super-hammy - Two shirtless supermusclemen that die in a single poke - Random warp zones that have additional challenges - Ability to move and fire independent of one another (VR had the "dial", TC had dual joysticks)
I never knew the NES games were ports. For the longest time those games left a bitter taste in my mouth. It’s a shame I never got to try the arcade versions.
I loved the arcade game, and wanted the NES port as the very first game I bought for the system. My father gave me a choice between this or some other game he had heard good things about. "Zelda" something? Stupid 8 year old me chose the Ikari Warriors 2 NES port =(
I love some of the longplay arcade videos you have! Brings back so many memories of games I played in the arcade when I was younger. If I provide credit to this channel, could I display some videos on my BRB scene when streaming?
I don’t remember this looking so plain back in the day. The color palette seems very limited. But that was almost 40 years ago. Still, lots of games from that time period had much more varied colors and certainly better use of color. I wonder if SNK was just using slightly outdated hardware.
