Hideaki Tokunaga is the original singer/writer of this song Saigo no Iiwake in 1989,his fellow japanese Ted Ito translated and sung it in Filipino in 1990 with a title Ikaw Pa Rin, both are equally wonderfull but of course give credit to where credit is due...

Its not "Japanese version" it is The ORIGINAL VERSION, SAIGO NO IIWAKE.

I heard this song on board the jeepney on the way to airport to California in 1988 it took me this time to get to know the title and the composer ..it's a simple song but it moves your soul to an epic happiness of listening to a true music to your ear and also reminds me of that time I left Manila and my relatives who saw me off It really takes me back in time and I'm glad to find it again here..yes it's June 26 2024 and playing listening feeling it deeply in my heart

Mga kababayan, ito po talaga yung original version. Kahit yung "Ikaw Pa Rin" Japanese din po ang kumanta nun na si Ted Ito.. Yung "Ikaw Pa Rin" ay cover song lang nito, at iniba nila yung meaning ng lyrics na supposedly nakakalungkot pero ginawa nilang romantic sa Pinoy version.

Nothing beats the original. I also love Ted Ito’s version but this is another level.

"Last Excuse") from Tokunaga's 1989 album Realize became well-known in the Philippines, when it was covered by Ted Ito as "Ikaw Pa Rin", Keempee de Leon as "My One and Only", Maso as "Kailanman", and as an instrumental by saxophonist Jake Concepcion.[4] Tokunaga began to release the Vocalist album series, in which he covered many Japanese songs of female singers. On September 14, 2005, he released the album Vocalist, the first work of the series. The album includes his cover versions of Miyuki Nakajima's 1975 song "Jidai" and Momoe Yamaguchi's 1977 song "Cosmos".
