Tina Turner said she hated singing that song and those type of songs particularly because Ike made her do it in such a sexual way and if she didn't do it that was a beating she was going to get behind stage! This was an awful time in that woman's life I turned my head away because I know what she was going through because she informed us!😬

At its best, the Ike & Tina Revue was as torrid a show as any out there. They could hold their own with the JBs, Sam & Dave, Otis himself -- no one could follow them.

It reached #23 on Billboard's R&B Singles chart... Between 1960 and 1975 the duo had twenty-six hits on the R&B Singles chart; six made the Top 10 and with two reaching #2, "A Fool in Love" in 1960 and "It's Gonna Work Out Fine" in 1961... They just missed having a seventh Top 10 record when "Nutbush City Limits" peaked at #11 in 1973... Ike Turner passed away on December 12th, 2007 at the age of 76, may he R.I.P., and Ms. Turner, born Anna Mae Bullock, will celebrate her 76th birthday this coming November 26th {2015}...

this is pretty sick, IMHO... now I can believe the whole fuss about ike's mistreatment of tina, which I yhought was a bit made up when her biopic came out... the music is ok, though, and hewr voice great as ever
She said in her book she haaaated performing this because Ike insisted on making it “pornographic”. Can’t beat her voice though 😍 I love her take on this song
