In this video I demonstrate the assembly procedure for a Bekant adjustable sit/stand desk from IKEA. This is a good alternative to the famous Galant desk. Review: I highly recommend this desk! Affordable, stable, and functional.
Hey man! Thanks for this. I bought one of these and I love it. Your video I followed step by step in sunny Sydney Australia! It saved me so much time and your hints made it a quick and painless exercise. Thanks for your help!
Your video just saved me and the dancing really helped alleviate my frustration. I never comment, but you just reminded me of an important life lesson. Even during the most difficult of times, one MUST DANCE!
Nice, I made the same mistake. Unfortunately I hammered in those nails with the same level of enthusiasm this dude has for his mesh, so it was annoying to get them out. But it all worked out in the end.
I noticed you put the center bracket the wrong way as I did. Apparently the longer side is supposed to go toward the front. To make a stronger support for body weight leaning on the desk. Can anyone confirm this is official? Seems the longer side is more solid.
My sister in law gave me hers and for some reason it stopped working until I saw your video regarding the key! Bless you sir for putting this video online. Now I jest need a way to secure the key from my children. Do you know of add-ons or hacks to secure additional power supplies to the desk?
Video was helpful I almost made the same mistakes as you! I'm angry that they didn't include a device to screw in the control panel. I just moved and don't have anything and was told it was include everything I need to set it up. Guess not. Time to go to Home Depot. Out of curiosity what do you do for a living and what kind of games do you play? We should play sometime! What's your steam!
I don’t know if it will reach anybody but the table top on top of my bekant desk is wobbling back and forth and I don’t know how to fix it. Nothing seems loose with the screw so I don’t know what to do. If someone can give any suggestions. Thank you
Great video. Can you tell me if you are still happy with the desk... I am considering this one, I am a developer and use the keyboard heavily is it comfortable to type long session standing up? How many times a day do you change from sit to stand? I was also considering the manual version (its cheaper) but if I move a lot then the motorized version would be best.
+Dan Mendes Hi Dan, I'm still very happy with my desk. I mainly use my home PC for gaming, not working. If I am using the PC for less than an hour, I find that I leave it in sitting position. When using for longer than that, I raise it up in the middle of my gaming session for about an hour. On average, I probably raise and lower it about twice a week. I have never had any problems despite loading the desk pretty heavily
Some reviewers on the Ikea website said this desk might not last a long time. Could anyone who has used it for more than 1 year give some comments about this desk?
Bro plz reply 😭 Can I instead buy Bekant table top with 4 olov or Linnmon legs? I don't have enough money to invest and $100 is kinda too much for just legs...
+circlehousePRO Hi, sorry for not getting back to you! I find the desk adequately sturdy even when in the standing position (a worst-case compared to sit-only desks) with 40lbs or more on top. It certainly moves if I push it, but there is no wiggle during normal mouse and keyboard usage
Really? Bummer, mine is still working just fine all these years later. Did you just build yours? Did you make sure to put the plastic key ("peg") into the control box?
