Ikea Detolf Cabinet complete with 4 piece Dioder LED lighting. Display contains EFX Luke "reveal" lightsaber, Sideshow Lords of the Sith (Maul and Palpatine), Hot Toys Thriller Michael Jackson.
@carryxxxon you get 4 dioder strips in the pack, each with their own wire which connect to the 4 pin power supply. I ran all of them in from the bottom of the cabinet, 2 either side through the slight gaps the glass door leaves. Then I literally run the wires up and behind the grey poles to conceal them. Keeping them in place is literally two clear cable ties per section, one at the top, and one at the bottom. Hope this helps?
hey, can I ask whether you stuck the light strips to the glass, or to the horizontal rods of the detolf? Most people seem to stick the light strips on the glass shelves, but I like what you did. But I cant quite tell if you stuck them to the rods, or to the glass side right near the rods. It would be great if you could confirm! Thanks!
that looks excellent. can i ask you, what did you do to space out the dioder light strips? just thin, thin wire that you ran along the grey poles inside the detolf? did you have to solder them or just wrap the wire around the ends? thank you.
hi, just asking about the base of the reveal. I planning to get an ikea detolf like yours but i wondering if the base of the efx reveal fit in the detolf somehow...
nice, did u have any probs with the glass being fragile or did you have to keep the glass cabinet from tipping over? i read the description on the ikea website and was unsure how sturdy or good it was. but this video is great and ur collection looks awesome
Hello, no I didn't stick anything to any of the glass. The strips are attached to the metal rods (frame) using two clear cable ties per strip. The same was used to run the wires up behind the frame to conceal them from the front. Hope that helps?
I used a dioder I got from Ikea, it's just one long strip though, and if I cut it like I can the strips I cut off, I have no clue how to get them to light...
@simonmk90 really easy! It's the first time i've ever done anything like that by myself, normal I wouldn't have a clue. Literally all I used was cable ties.
