Recipe step by step: FOR 25 cm cake tray approx. Greased with butter and with baking paper. FILLING: ⁃ 220g butter ⁃ 250g Sugar ⁃ 8 egg yolks ⁃ 30g corn starch (maizena) CAKE BASE: ⁃ 100g Flour / 170g Sugar ⁃ 3 pinches of baking powder ⁃ 4 egg yolks / 4 egg whites ⁃ 200g ground hazelnuts ⁃ 4tbsp warm water GLAZE: ⁃ big pack of Daim Chocolates (I used Daim orange flavor) ⁃ 200ml heavy cream STEP 1 (BASE): ⁃ Add flour, sugar, baking powder, 8 egg yolks, warm water and ground hazelnuts and mix. ⁃ Add 4 egg whites to blender until fluffy and stiff. ⁃ Mix dough into blender. ⁃ Add to cake pan and cook at 200C for 30min. ⁃ **Let it cool off ideally before next step** STEP 2 (FILLING): ⁃ Melt butter and add to pan, add sugar, corn starch and 6-8 egg yolks. ⁃ Whisk at middle heat for 15-20 min slowly without letting it get hot(if whisked fast it will turn into a weird slosh which you’ll have to throw away). STEP 3 (ASSEMBLY Pt.1): ⁃ Cut cake base into two layers and add the filling in the middle and on top. ⁃ Put the Semi-assembled cake into fridge to cool off. ⁃ Move on to make the Daim glaze STEP 4(GLAZE): ⁃ Unwrap all Daim chocolates and add to plastic bag. ⁃ Crush them with a kitchen hammer or a pot on a flat surface. ⁃ Add crushed chocolate into pot with the heavy cream. ⁃ Let it cool off a LITTLE so its not too liquid when poured onto the cake. STEP 5 (ASSEMBLY Pt.2): ⁃ With the cake on a tray pour chocolate glaze (not too hot or it will fall off) onto cake and spread evenly - Allow it to fall of the sides and cover it entirely. ⁃ Back into the fridge! ⁃ ENJOY. Awesome recipe, wrote instructions because the video’s instructions are too fast. Thanks for the video!
Omg Thanks for the recipe! I've visited ikea more times than I can count. I can't believe today is the first day that I have tried this delicious dessert. I can't seem to find where to purchase the whole thing, so I will be making it. 🤗
"Is it easy?" What kind of question is that? Just watch the video and see if it's easy for you based on your knowledge. If you are familiar with cooking desserts, it's easy. If you have never made a cake, it's not gonna be so easy.
