Love it! Have been fumbling with the "stack of ikea lacks" enclosure for about a week now. It's wobbly as hell! Buying the parts now and looking forward to a better enclosure.
I made an almost identical setup in 2019 (though I used plywood and old windows/kitchen cupboard parts). I did my filament exactly how you did with a rod going across the top and it works fine. The only time it sorta screws up is sometimes it will bind if im using the roll on the far right, which i think if I ran some acrylic or ptfe tube it would resolve that. Much more convenient than changing the whole roll everytime.
Thanks, this is helping me in my wood design stand, inwhich structural integrity is a concern. As, the left and right movement of printer on current stand makes me wonder if some of my builds fail due to unnecessary movement from plastic filmament storage bin. Looking at this though, I'm wondering if I should just to IKEA and call it a day now. lol Thanks again.
Just move north mate, you can print ABS for half the year up here in the open air, on a good day you can just move the printer outside and turn off the bed heater too! 😂😂😂
How did you make your ender 3 fit in it? I just bought the same cabinet from Ikea, but i have to turn the printer abit sideways, otherwise the front of the buildplate will hit the door when fully pulled to the front. Is it the same for you ?
Nope it just misses it. I have 10mm thick foam tape around the door to insulate it. This may push the door out a bit giving enough room. Maybe give that a try.
very excellent idea, congratulations for the work. I've looked a lot for this locker, but I can't find it, could you give me the locker code, or something that helps me find it faster. thanks
Thanks for sharing, do you find that the cabinet is stable enough to not vibrate at all during printing? Currently I have my ender3 on granite and it's really solid.
@@brendonv101 Hahaha, just saying ^^ The platsa is the perfect printer cabinet for both FDM and resin. YOu have a nice display up top and storage down below. And it is cheap and looks somewhat nice.
Hi mate. Trying to ask you a question about boost compensation pin, 1hdt. I use hand pump but it doesn’t hold the pressure. It’s leaking out the pump. Is that normal? Cheers sorry I couldn’t work out how to message you
I have since added foam tape around the door and it's pretty well sealed. For resin printing I'd probably run the top hole to a hose and out a window or into the roof though. Especially if you're in the same room as it all the time.
Depends what you're using it for really. More expensive ones generally make it more user friendly. Not typically better quality printing wise. Cheaper printers like this require a lot of tweaking to get right as everything can be adjusted. More expensive printers are usually setup in a way where you send it your print and bam, it just works. This also requires you to only use their own filaments which in turn comes with a mark up. Expensive printers are basically catered for business use.
