The 2 pieces should have been joined so the wood grain blended. Looks like 2 separate designs

Great video, how much over hang at front of worktop, is it level with doors or a little more ?

It should over hang little more but in this case cabinets are mooved forward there is some pipes behind cabinets. Usually worktop over hang around 4-5cm but it depend on the kitchen and width of the cabinets and worktops.

What saw blade are you using that makes perfect cuts on laminate without chipping? Does the type of saw make a difference?

All tools I'm using you can find in my Amazon store www.amazon.co.uk/shop/ppflatpack regarding cutting laminate top for circular saw just turn the top upside down and make sure disk is sharp. When I'm curing sink compact jigsaw and the blade depend on the material if is starting to chip turn the top upside down drill holes in the corners hard to get around corners and again new sharp blade for the exact type of kitchen top you have.

I have a question i'm having trouble getting answered. I have an L shaped counter so I need to cut for a corner. Now i'm pretty sure i should do a 45 degree angle cut on both pieces and meet in the corner right? The IKEA instructions say to only do straight cuts. Can I do a 45 degree angle cut without messing up the counter?

Honestly I've never seen this done on any IKEA kitchen, they always instruct straight cuts, basically two slabs of countertops which meet on one straight edge which you then protect with the thingy I don't know the name of, a T shaped strip that sits in the crack :) Aesthetically, you can do a 45 degree cut if you fancy that style but I'm not sure if you'll be able to screw it properly underneath to secure it.

What do you do to the exposed cut end of the countertop, so it hides the particle board? Does IKEA sell end caps that match the surface color?

@@flyfish29 Thank you. I decided to have my countertop for my RV made from marine grade plywood and formica on top. I let the pros at Ring's End in Milford Connecticut make it for me. I installed it myself. No more worrying about possible water damage ever again.

When you buy a new sink, it usually comes with a cutout template, if not, as the customer service guy.
