The chair wheels is supposed to be designed like that so the chair doesn’t move around in case if someone accidentally bumped it when no one is sitting on it but when you sit on it moves around freely. By the way great video
Wheels too stiff? You could try this - at your own risk- take each wheel out of the base. Get a lever instrument (in my case a large flathead screwdriver ) and slowly prise a wheel off one side rotating the wheel as you go. When it pops off the axle - (using protective glasses) knock the axle through the wheel casing with a wood peg and wood or rubber mallet. There is a plastic pressure pad and stiff spring in the wheel case which should pop out. Discard them and replace the wheel and axle and squeeze the other wheel back on again till it pops back into position. Just did all five of mine in about 25 minutes and the wheels are now free to rotate.
It's also a Ikea chair and I've had a few of them and known others with them and they don't wear out in a year like some expensive office and gaming chairs. I think it is because Ikea has physical stores and if their chair breaks people will actually bring them back where every other chair company doesn't need to worry about that.
Exactly! Other more expensive wear out quickly while ikea does not. i find it hard to buy other chair nowadays, although im tempted to because some other expensive chair have better design
Good review. Yes wheels are junk as supplied but doctored mine by removing pressure pads (see separate comment under my name). Headrest needs to come forward 25mm to be effective and back tilts too far back and not far enough forward.
i was wondering "why spend all this effort on such a minor feature like wheels are" ... then i saw 3/4 of people commenting on that .... ok guys, i suppose you choose cars that has better usb docking stations
I have destroyed few cables because of poor wheel design. Many times I was furious cus I caught cable with my chair wheel and I was fighting with it to get it out. Sometimes someones nuance is others mans worst nightmare.
I'd buy this chair if it had Fabric seat like Markus instead of this garbage PU fake leather. They have to get this one feature alsmost purposefully screwed up.
I´ve been using this chair for over a month and I´m really disappointed... I feel lots of pain on my legs, which I think is caused because the seat adds pressure on them... Also, it is not comfortable. That is really sad because everything else is amazing.
@@mlam4221 No, because it is hard (or impossible) to find a seat pad with the same size. According to my previous experience with another chair, buying a seat pad different from the size of your chair seat is even worse.
