god damn. the reason why i like the sub is because the jp VAs always fucking full send it when they do anything, and the english dub rarely does so. But goddamn, this ikki VA fucking nailed it

Ikki's voice in both Japanese and English sounds very similar and that makes it difficult to decide which is better, but if I had to choose an option I would choose the Japanese one without a doubt since it is the one with which I discovered the anime
i thought the dub was weirdly quiet. it also ended really quickly on the "a" syllable which felt weird. and of course it doesnt pronounce japanese the right way (since ittou shura is japanese)
@@Annihilator_5024 on the other hand most companies at the top of their industries don't care to improve. Plus complaining about an ENGLISH dub not talking like its Japanese is kinda stupid considering they are 2 different languages. Hell some Japanese words change meaning depending on use and place in a sentence so translations will be wacky. Also the whole a thing is only longer in the sub due to being used as a yell/scream wouldn't be pronounced that way. Kinda like how Sean Schemmel did Goku in BotG
@@aadendick2686 "PUSH THROUGH!! USE IT ALL!!!" i hated listening to that so much :( english doesnt have poetic beauty to it in a primal way that's necessary for something like ittou rasetsu. the ending syllable of "all" is terrible
@@aadendick2686 preference is opinion, structure of language is not. so of course i dont attack opinions either, but english and japanese objectively don't sound the same. they have different phonetics.
these are some of my favorite scenes and it hurt my heart to hear the english dub of ittou rasetsu. off puttingly cringe, and thats partially just that english is linguistically ugly with that
