IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Bodenplatte Career || P-51D Mustang || Episode One - Battle of the Bulge. 

Private Siefer Journal Entry #1 Like my father before me I joined the army air force as soon as I could wanting to become a pilot. Instead I was relegated to ground duties. Doesn't matter to me, as long as can help stick it to those kraut bastards. Our squadron was recently loaned to the 9th air force to help push back the german offensive in the ardennes. We sent out four mustang's with 500 pounders under the wings to stop a resupply convoy of theirs from reaching the front. Mr Hall might have destroyed 5 vehicles but he almost made it 6 when he bounced his mustang down the runway on landing. With a shuddering halt and a few busted gear seals he pulled off the runway and shut it down. I'll give him this one I guess because he doesn't seem to have much experience in these war birds. If he keeps tearing em up he's gonna be spending quite some time in the hangar and not in the officers mess or club. I'm not gonna let him do what Mr Ross put my father through. For now I'll patch this girl up and tune the engine to get a bit more power for the next sortie.

"The Blue-Nosed Bastards of Bodney" huh? Quite a story for this squadron. I'll have to talk to one of my friends next time I fly home. His grandfather was in this squadron! He flew in the Battle of Y29. A forward base the Blue Noses were using fell right in the line of the last major german fighter sweep of the war. Needless to say a hell of fight ensued and it was absolute chaos.

Did you leave your RPM at 100%? Seemed like a pretty low throttle position to be in combat mode (around 59%).

The trees have leaves on them. I play Rise of Flight. It is allright because it is cheap and game-like.

I also want to get Flying Circus. The one where you fly in WW1.

I heard alot of good things about the il2 campaign, and as a dcs-guy where multiplayer is the only option i was intrigued to play a continuous "story" Well turns out imma stay with the multiplayer, since all the AI does is either waste all their ammo on one enemy (who never do anything else other than a laaazyyy turn when they have a 6) or straight up crash headon into them, it's the biggest joke 😂 (Actually no, the biggest joke would be the dcs ka-50 ai which will LITERALLY NOSEPLANT his chopper should you ever decide to give them an attack order for a ground target 😂😂

Bodenplatte translates to "Groundplate". I have IL-2 1946 (including Pacific Fighters). But I will get Stalingrad and Bodenplatte.

At 7:08 you mentioned the whistle from the gun ports... are you positive that's what causes it? I always thought it was a stall warning feature.

Beautiful game. Shame you have to micromanage the plane a'la real life. Should be an _Easy Mode_ that handles trim, and fuel mixture, to make it Epic for new players.

How you move the camera ?

It just occurred to me, you could see through your map when you were flying. Is that some option I missed, or is that a mod?
