Sì, è proprio come dici tu, dipende dalla congiunzione: quando il soggetto è lo stesso, "di + infinito" sostituisce "che + congiuntivo", ma non può sostituire una frase introdotta da "sebbene". Per esempio non diciamo "Credo che non ho voglia di andare al cinema"; diciamo invece "Credo di non avere voglia di andare al cinema".
Why roman languages have made life quite so complicated i really don't know. In Denmark we have only three words where Italy - and France- have more than 50 !! ( Have counted them!) Yet we manage to converse quite happily . Anyway, thank you so much for your lesson- with my old head I don't stand a chance, but a few mistakes doesn't matter too much.

No, questi tre avverbi sono seguiti dall’indicativo: “Forse pioverà.” “Probabilmente non lo sa.” “Magari non è stato lui.” Se però magari non significa forse, ma esprime un desiderio o un rimpianto, allora è seguito dal congiuntivo imperfetto o trapassato: Magari tornasse! Magari lo avessi saputo! Spero sia chiaro :)
At 11:53 the example: “A meno che tu *non venga* con me, starò a casa”, seems to indicate: Unless you *not come* with me, I will stay home. That is, if you try to accompany me I will stay home (I don’t want you to come with me). What is the purpose of ‘non’? It seems redundant.
Hi Martin, thanks for your question! The word "non" in this expression has lost its specific value as a negation, it is simply reinforcing the meaning of the clause. The use of “non” with pleonastic value is common in certain types of dependent clauses, even with other conjunctions, also in clauses that do not require the subjunctive. Examples: I won't leave until it gets dark. Non partirò finché non farà buio. As soon as I finish work I'll call you. Non appena finirò di lavorare ti chiamerò. I almost had an accident on the motorway. Per poco non ho fatto un incidente in autostrada. Here the negation "non" is used to give more emphasis to the concept. So the sentence "A meno che tu non venga con me, starò a casa” means unless you come with me, I will stay at home. It is redundant indeed, actually in this expression the “non” can be omitted: A meno che tu venga con me, starò a casa.
