I mean they are talented in their own way. Iroha is a good dancer and performer and from what we've seems she's not that bad at singing for her young age. Yunah is talented she can sing,dance and is a good performer. Minju can do everything. Moka a good performer and dancer. Wonhee is an ok vocalist

@@acesyii exactly. I was talking about it with my brother on why make a show if its rigged. Why make a show if only 2 were determined by the voter and 4 by the judges/Producers. In I-land only one was chosen by thr producers. It was to being Hype to the group why else? BND weren't as successful with their debut. You create a loyal fanbase for each member the bigger the fandom the more attention and anticipation along with some loyal hybe stans. They knew who they were going pick from the first episode rewatching it. They push iroha,iris ,wonhee ,hiemana(idk how to spell her name) and hyewon even jongeun. They built them up but non of their pushes were the publics pick. They never told us how thr judges point affects the position of their rankings ,they never told us how they members were chosen. HYBE was calculated. Not having someone from the big 6 would be obviously. Iris lost the voters votes and everyone was upset about her bad attitude. They keep jongeun in top 6 but with less contestants they couldn't save her so obviously. Hyewon was being pushed in high even when she didn't deserve it much(she was in my top6) until hyewon wasn't doing well with votes. If you take the points and votes without the judges points which played a heavy part in their ranking the elimation would be different. They continuously set 3 out the thr big 6 every episode jiwoo chanelle and jeemin. Chanelle with her even editing. Jiwoo being overlooked despite doing the best in her groups in the heel hip pop choreo even in given or taken it was obvious i mean even the first episode. Jeemin continuously being pick down by the judges saying this isn't number 1 jeemin as if they were the one evaluating her before the show. They knew everything they kinda knew the line up but had to make some changes especially if they were debuting people who weren't that popular. HYBE did it for people to be familiar with the group and establish a loyal fanbase.

yunah and minju are so talented, this company and their training has wronged them sm its crazy. if yunah trained for 5 years under any other company except hybe she wouldve been amazing in terms of vocals
not really only one who fit it would be yunah and iroha. Wonhee only fits cuter more brighter concepts same with minju not to mention that's only type wonhee did. Minju didn't shine in good girl bad girl nor cherry or desperate(i think that's the title). Moka can do darker concepts but she wouldn't shine in it either. I think this plays more on strength of them as whole.
hybe put illit in cute concept bcs they know illit cant sing. its easier to make songs and perform a cute song esp for a rookie group that doesn't have singing as strength. just like lesserafim had a songs that is super easy. illit can do switch cute or lessarfim concept
actually if you look at runexts performances you would notice that both yunah and iroha fits the girl crush concept better while moka and minju and adapt to any kind of concept while wonhee is the only one who suits the cute concept

Let's be honest, though. No one in this group has "bad vocals." If they really did, the song itself would be a trainwreck to listen to because you can't fix the worst of the worst or a bad voice. They just don't know how to sing live, which varies from singing elsewhere.Their live vocals/live techniques are what need a lot of improvement and not the vocals themselves.

@@rina_core She's a good singer, no doubt. But pls don't take "needing improvement" as a negative thing. It means she's already good and there are opportunities to improve more. It's a small form of constructive criticism and simply means fans are looking forward to her growth
@justmytwocentsdontgetmad I don't take it as a bad thing, but depending on how things go, if she gets less and less, show-off due to change in creative direction, we could have trouble seeing her improvement which is what I fear the most. An example would be Giselle, ever since Savage, she has come a long way but because of the change in direction, no one was able to see her growth cuz they moved her to getting minimum show. It isn't till recently that she got more show of lines.
moka wasn't chosen for her vocals but rather her ability to adapt to concepts without looking "out of place" and always doing a really good job on them. that doesn't excuse her weak vocals but i see some people discrediting her position in the group. she wasn't even in my top picks in r u next (mine were jeemin and jeongeun) but i acknowledged how much of a good performer she was. as much as idols have to sing, they also need to dance and perform, and moka excels at the latter.
this is just so… wrong. honestly, a talented contestant can def practice to adapt to a concept no problem. choosing an untalented one just bec of this one characteristic (that is not even rare or impossible to achieve) is so unfair in my opinion

@rina_core not the point, what OP said is that if you rank all the 8 members of UNIS (all of them being talented ~*looks at nana/kotoko but oh well*) the low ranking members level is already the main vocal level of other girl groups. Meaning, UNIS has a higher level in terms of singing prowess compared with other groups. Also, UNIS are much much younger in age in average. It's both good and bad in a way, debuting minors, but hey they're really talented especially Lim Seowon and Elisia.

@@rina_core I think I remember reading somewhere that a go-to strategy at Hybe is that they get like 1-2 group vocal lessons a week and the rest of the time the strategy is just lock yourself in a practice room and hope you can self-improve (I think this was in relation to one of their boy groups but I don't see why the vocal training would significantly differ)
In fact, I'm glad that Jeemin didn't enter the group, I think the concept of this group doesn't suit her. I hope she can make her debut in a new group, and everyone will see that she could be a good support for illit.

You guys only claim that these idols debuted without being ready without realizing that varying idols will debut at different times. Some of yoir favs literally train for 5+ years while some of your faves train for literally 3 months. I get everyone is different in learning, but there has to be a same level of understanding.
Honestly (I'm not their fun, only know Wonhee, because she get viral) I think they will be good at vocal by training it in future, but now we got what we got.

@@rina_core Unis is more on the vocal side I guess.We have: Seowon: good vocalist but dance is lacking ( dance is messy and looks awkward ) Elisia: good vocalist and dance is a bit better than seowon Gehlee: from what I heard she has a lot of potential for singing but her dance isn't that good ( probably worse than Seowon but it improved a lot though ) Nana: Good dancer but I don't think she's a good singer Hyeonju: she has been an idol before so she can both sing and dance pretty well Yunha: A good dancer, maybe even better than nana but I'm not sure about how she sings. Yoona: Her dancing is pretty clean, I think she's pretty stable. Kotoko: She hasn't trained much so her dancing is stiff, messy and awkward. Her singing is unstable while dancing but she has improved a lot.

The most deserving to debut was just tossed out to debut these underdevelop trainees thats why they received alot of hate and they just prove that hate that they're receiving is deserving to them because their performance speaks for it, minju's talent is the only one that carries the group because she is one of the derserving trainees for debut but i'm worried for her career because of these underdevelop trainees.
They say that Wonhee is better than Iroha in vocals, but i think Iroha is better. The fact that Iroha has a more stronger voice than Wonhee, and that Wonhee is less stable than Iroha. This is my opinion, so dont start World War 3, please 😊
Wonhee isn't as stable while dancing or when she's on stage but outside of that she has clips of her singing outside of the stage and she is generally better than irhoa

As a business decision, it seems to be paying off to cast popular, cute-image young girls to dance around appealingly on the stage. Honestly I think a lot of the current audience demand is for underage girls to flirt to the audience, or at least performers who sell "young girlhood" well. Of course, conventionally attractive looks are heavily prioritized for this purpose. Singing is an afterthought adornment. We can see that the song selected for them can sound cute without requiring too much technical skill. Add it all together and you get $$$$. Since kpop is a business, technically, their agency isn't failing at their job. Their job is to make money, not art. Direct all your attention, clicks, streams, comments, hashtags, and keyword searches to the type of content you actually want to see more of. Use the power of market interest that you have to hype the content you want more of.
I think they’ll improve. Prior to R U Next I’m pretty sure Wonhee had like 1 - 2 months of training for example so she is improving rlly quickly. But the others who trained for five years - HYBE really needs to pay for voice lessons. They’re just setting up their artists for hate
Jiwoo was robbed she was definitely the best vocalist of the show they eliminated her and this is the result I am very sure if Jiwoo was selected instead of Moka the group would have never got this much hate on their debut

Their vocals are good. At least in their songs since there’s autotune. I think they all have great potential and could be amazing but I think their vocals are unstable and they need more training. No hate to ILLIT though they’re still a good group. And I personally think minju’s vocals are pretty good
Singers....but can't sing. And I've recently watched some of their revolution (run next performances)...they did sing there, and from this I can say they are not that bad in singing like how they show in award shows, but it is HYBE who is forcing them to sing with cute and sweet vocals when two or one member is perfectly suited in girls crush (if u watch their performance then u can see it).......and hope HYBE doesn't ruin these girls career with hates.
