Some people feel like they are entitled. It's obvious he has gotten his way by being a jerk. I spent 28 years in law enforcement. 7 out of 10 DUI arrests, the person would say, "Look what you are doing to me." I would respond by saying, "I didn't pour alcohol down your throat." It's always someone else's fault. they can never take responsibility for their actions.

When I was married my Husband and I owned a wrecker service. I totally understand everything you go through. Been there done that need to write a book. I even towed myself when we needed an extra person. Have seen it all. Recoveries, Repos, county, city and State rotation, illegal parking. It's just a job but people hate ya. Rules of conduct when an illegal parker is caught and in the WRONG.... 1) Blame someone else 2) Deny seeing the sign that you parked in front of 3) Use abusive language on the person who is doing their job 4) Delay the person who is working, and, unbelievably trying to help you even after tactics 1-3 didn't work 5) Call them names 6) Threaten them 7) Make a false claim of assault against them 8) Physically assault the the tow person. I am sorry that you have to put up with this BS, from ADULTS WHO KNOW BETTER (you'd think anyway). It's a good thing you record everything about your tow operations. Nothing says they are liars better than video of their actions and language. You were extremely decent to let her have the car for nothing. The woman, if she's a girl friend should drop his butt like a hot potato. If she's married to that Jacka$$, i pity her.

I've been in Gatlinburg a number of times over the past 60 years. It's changed, a lot! Yeah, used to be free parking, but Gatlinburg used to be a dump. I was there last summer, paid to park, and had a good time.

I felt for the young woman. She truly was trying to be fair and understanding. She had such pain and desperation in her voice, i dont know how long that relationship lasted after his behavior. Jeff you should have had him arrested, then given her the drop. The jerk got what he wanted. I hate I have to live in the same world with mama’s boys like him.

You get so much farther in life if you are just respectful and nice to other people even in difficult and stressful situations. I called to have my car towed but the tow truck driver was able to get my car started and then followed me all the way to my auto mechanic's shop just to ensure I made it there safely. I tried to pay the tow trucker with cash but he refused to take it and told me that he had just come from a horrible, contentious tow experience and that helping me out was the one bright spot in his day so far. I've never forgotten how kind he was.

And yet, after all his invalid excuses & name-calling & blaming, & trying to damage you/your truck/your reputation, & claiming that you ran him over...Even after all THAT, the foul mouthed bully got what he wanted all along. He will continue to act out and abuse others because he's learned, once again, that his methods work. To "help her out", you enabled the liar to continue abusing people---and you paid for his bad behavior toward her and toward you. Many times, patience is what's called for, but not this time.

I take my hat off to your patience. You need a very thick skin in that job with all those crazy people

I’m not feeling the dropping it for free here. They got all up in ur grill basically and get the police called out and u reward them by not charging them for illegal parking. In Previous videos, people are often very nice but they still pay full price. I know the girl was nice but that didn’t warrant dropping for free IMO.

My wife and I stop in to Gatlinburg often in our travels between PA and Atlanta. Even if we are just there 15 to 20 minutes to quickly grab something at a store, we pay to park at the municipal/city garage. It isn't worth the risk.

A little excitement on the job is nice now and again, but this type of "excitement" we can all do without! 😦

Full credit to Jeff for how he handled this situation. I doubt that I would have been as charitable. The clown in this circus parked illegally, was verbally abusive and insulting, put himself in physical peril and generally acted the fool in a personal pity party. And the worse part of it is that he got away with ALL of it with zero consequences legally or even financially. My concern is that this type of guy will just keep up the stupidity until the nicer person caves and 'does the right thing' for the sake of a third-party. And, the clown will do it all again the next time because there have never been any consequences for the previous times. Jeff should have a clear conscience, though. He deserves it.

I'm kind of mad that he didn't get in trouble and have to pay, but on the other hand this has got to be a modern day Christmas miracle for them. I can think back at times where I have been let off the hook for stupid things. I hope that kid learns his lesson, and to be a tolerable person. The ability to hold an adult conversation and have compassion, get you a long way in life. You can be a compassionate man, and a deadly one at the same time. The guy is in the wrong he never should have parked there to begin with, it is his fault that he ended up paying more money. He is a self-entitled spoiled male Karen who doesn't think that the rules apply to him and is throwing a tantrum to get what he wants, what a jerk. I hope for her sake that she ditches that idiot, because he is a financial nightmare and not worth knowing.

375$ to get out of tow. 175$ in Atlanta or $100 drop on spot fee. Must not have regulations in sevier county on fees imposed for simple tows.

It's aggravating to have your car towed if you park where you are not supposed to. If the tow driver is wiling to give you a break and save you money then be nice and appreciate him. The reason he cursed you was to manipulate you. You were amazingly steadfast. His arguing and begging did not work. So he was making things volatile so he could come back, apologize, and "show you he had changed and was truly sorry" =He wasn't, BUT that was the little skit he was acting out.
