The Illinois Tollway has begun replacing those familiar plastic transponders with stickers using Radio Frequency Identification technology. NBC 5’s Kye Martin reports.
I grew up in Chicago. There's Chicago and the suburbs. The term ChicagoLand was created to indicate the city AND suburbs. When people use "the ChicagoLand AREA", ITS REDUNDANT ! ChicagoLand MEANS the Chicago area which includes the suburbs. Either use "the Chicago area" OR "ChicagoLand". Do NOT use "the ChicagoLand AREA". It's saying the same thing TWICE.
I was in contact with a realtor to get an apartment in Chicago and they said they cover the "whole Chicagoland area". I asked about a specific suburb and they said, "No, that is the suburbs, we do Chicagoland". There are 2 CTA trains that service it. Apparently there is debate on what Chicagoland is. lol I found a better realtor who is based in the area that I'm looking.
You don't need the IPass sticker until your current transponder expires. Mine expires in 2032. I'm good with my current transponder for another 8 years.😅😅😅😅😅
My transponder expired 2 years ago. I went to a Jewel 1 year ago and they said I can't get a new one unless I have a renewal letter from ipass. Never received a renewal letter.
Bring back cash and debit payments. Illinois is the most incompetently run state in the union, and of course the Tollway system is also the worst. All toll plazas are now just empty and wasting valuable space for no reason, because some schmuck though it'd be a good idea to go "cashless" a few years back. Worst pay online system ever. Shame!
