in this react vid 5:22 right down corner, spanking whip, and beads on the tilted table; 7:06 has the most obv probs, 2 flowers on the left, and zoom in what’s underneath unicorn’s hoof, it’s NOT a key, a horn pointing towards a hole, with some “zaps”, this is the same in the missing puzzle at the beginning, a horn pointing to another hoof, which is in a shape of a hole; 7:32 left down corner, a candle in a bucket; and Jordan looked up the meaning of unicorn, but he didn’t finish the sentence till the end, “captured only by virgin”, and they stuck in V then broke it… c’mon…; lyrics say bae, just sounds just like bed, and while repeating it, they r rolling on bed, no hinting at all, and confetti shot…🤮🤮
hello, im gonna add a comment where the Chinese Tiktok (Douyin) made an analysis about this MV, its a bit disturbing as they go on but here's what they found. DISCLAIMER: Note that all of these are not analyses by me, I'm just translating what I saw from Douyin to here to let people have further discussion about this MV. on the start, wonhee is calling with a mysterious person on 0:04 , the whole room was dimmed, even the small sunlight would make the girl happy, this shows the girls are still a child on 0:07 , where wonhee said "I want you". If it's a girl's matter, she should at least smile. This expression is obviously displeased or even resentful. She seems to have learned something (combined with her phone call with the mysterious person earlier, she might be the first girl to realize the problem) on 0:08 , The dim and narrow space had white walls and a red floor. If this were to be considered a girl's room, it would be somewhat absurd. This kind of space resembles more of a hotel or an SM playroom in terms of color scheme (50 shades of grey types). Dreamcore doesn't have such things on 2:20 , Since it's in the style of dreamcore girls, why is the background a pillow? These girls don't live together, nor have they ever had a pillow fight scene. What is the significance and purpose of the pillow? on 2:46, The Invitation from the Unicorn. a mythological anecdote: Isidore of Seville wrote in the year 600 AD that the unicorn is a cruel beast, often fights with the elephants. He also noted that unicorns could easily be lured and captured by using young girls. The unicorn would rest its head on the girl's lap and fall asleep, making it easy for hunters to capture them on 4:26, The next day, the girls woke up, eagerly anticipating their meeting with the mysterious person from the unicorn. hence, that's why the previous night couldn't fall asleep (because of the excitement) on 4:34 , they notice the Bae sounds like Bed, and Dash sounds like Dad on 4:38 , The scenes and performances in the entire music video that best capture their youthful identity. Everyone appears particularly mature, with heavy thoughts weighing on their minds. Iroha seems to be the leader of a secret plan they have, and everyone is waiting for her to give instructions. on 5:21 , Upon realizing they are being watched, they revert to a childlike innocence, eagerly heading to the dressing room like a group of happy children anticipating putting on princess dresses on 7:01 , Pay attention to the arrow on the right. Typically, arrows are marked while sliding, but here the arrow changes size from the base. Pay attention to the shape of the arrow on 7:58 , By normal logic, what should be floating here are bubbles, balloons, feathers, and the like, but why is it plastic bags? This isn't consistent with Dreamcore either. Plastic bags haven't appeared before. Does the plastic bag imply condoms? on 9:51 , There's not much to say about this; this looks like it resembles losing one's virginity on 10:00 , Can't see the ceiling clearly, feeling dazed, no matter how you look at it, this resembles post-coitus. Those with sex experience should know what I'm talking about. Similarly, when passing through walls, NMIXX sees brightness, but why does it feel more oppressive and darker passing through here? Furthermore, their expressions are clearly of fear and confusion on 11:06 , Iroha, who discovers the truth, leads everyone to obtain the key, while the "spy" on the far right (Wonhee) wears a worried expression. on 11:42, they got the key and tried to escape on 11:50 , wonhee's gaze seems off, giving a sense of doing something wrong and feeling sorry for everyone. on 11:52 , In the end, they still couldn't escape. Ribbons around the bed? Ribbons haven't appeared on their clothes, so what are the ribbons for? to tie them.
additional note, at 7:01 watch what pose the two flowers are in… also around 9:44 if you listen really carefully there is the sound a bed creaking in the background… isn’t it kind of odd that this is appearing in an mv with a “childlike” concept? (i’ll be honest, the sound is really hard to catch, it took me at least 5 times to catch it myself. you would hear it more clearly if you searched for the instrumentals.) the chinese community has found many many more details which i will not describe here, but the deeper you go the more there is. even if you think this may be over exaggerated, sure, maybe if it was one or two single elements. then i would understand why you’d say that. but there are 10+ elements in this mv hinting at pedophilia and sexual intentions. keep in mind that this is a girl group containing two minors.
ive seen this on douyin too, it def needs more attention, it feels like hybe is pushing everyone's boundaries this time, the girls deserve so much more better
i'm so so glad that people pointed out the problems within this mv. Their dance covers were all over the internet and it's concerning how not many realised the message being conveyed was absolutely creepy.
But at the V part which on of the members breaks the wall, before that you could heard the bed shaking sound which you cloud also find in the end of the chores of skz’s heyday🥶 it’s just really scary… I hope the entertainment treats them better…😭
i’m honestly so glad i found jordan’s channel a few weeks back, i’ve just non-stop been watching his videos. i love his humour and everything 😭.. and i learn something new every time!! thank you jordan for cheering me up every video you do ❤
Exactly, his humour, his straight point explanation about some scene of some hidden messages we didn't notice, it's so useful for me, not only focus on editing, but also the giving attention to group members, choreo, mv theory, the song itself, and jamming with us!😂❤
the ✨ magic ✨ of editing in magnetic is crazy, and the song is so catchy, i've been looping it the past few days !! FIGHTING ILLIT~ really hoping that more illit content comes out about the story., esp this unicorn we're trying to find
People on TikTok has been analyzing the mv and people are accusing hybe of being ‘pedophilic’. Like the flower on the left to the unicorn at 7:07, the plastic bags at 8:34 are resembling cond-ms, the butterfly on the ball at 9:33 represents ‘pedophilia’ (you can search that butterfly), and the wall V representing virgin, together with the bed-shaking sound during the bridge (9:35-9:39) and they breaking the V ‘virgin’ wall. The girls were a bit, I’d say frightened when the reacted to their mv. Idk, there’re too much coincidence isn’t it? It’s too strange 🙁
I thought the butterfly thing was forced until I searched what the symbol is, it’s a pink and blue butterfly that means “child lover” that pedo uses to indicate their preference for children of either gender (you can find it on Wikipedia)… same color scheme as the butterfly ball in the mv🤢 so many coincidence that the production team could not be overlooking that much
the green and white hall at 9:33 actually represents the vag*** and the pink ball represents the sp***. At 4:20, those pillows are stacked in such a way it resembles a female chest. Its honestly incredibly horrible to see young girls being portrayed in such an innapropriate way :(( illit doesnt deserve this!!
Hiii thank you for the analysis!!! Can you possibly look into some connotations in this mv related to children? People in China are discussing about this mv quite a lot, and I got worried because some content creators’ remark that it may implies sexualizing children. E.g. unicorn, overly young looks, repeated scenes of only feet and socks, cute children stickers…..
It is sexualising. I made my film director frds to watch this. They all said that this mv hides a lot of highly inappropriate symbols and connotations.
@@LKelzYeah Hybe is really weird from making Eunchae and Garam do the twerking dance in Fearless (now removed), the Cookie lyrics, and now Magnetics MV innuendos + Gfriends Mago lyrics relating to a cult, Le Sserafim concept, mocking Christianity, Ill-It’s dance relating to a cults exercises (Dan World cult)
Believe me, they're just sexualizing it. It's about a girl who is obsessed with a boy, and she has to confess her feelings. All of those "signs" are connected to her confession, and confession letter.
The song is nice. But the Mv is very disturbing also has a hidden paedophile tendencies. I feel so sad for these girls being forced to do these or even did not know what they are doing and expressing… shame on their company and the Mv director🤮
just wanna comment, idk if other people pointed out this but for me, the MV have this darker color grading instead of a bright and colorful to be a dreamcore, if you have watched the MV of the song, from @1:54 to @2:16, it is so giveaway if you think about it and its very creepy for me to have much more meaning than just a cute and dreamy song for such a rookie group. i think the lyrics itself is implying about "sex" and "losing virginity" (correct me if im wrong), too much of a coincidence i must say, the lyrics are like this, "no push and pull, Gonna R.U.N to you, Our chemistry, Yeah I'm in too deep now, No regrets, gonna zero in on you", like, if you think about it in a way adults interpret it especially for westerns, i think you know what it means, especially when you are matching it with the lyrics to the video like in a hotel and plastic bags floating around, like if you want dreamy concept just add bubbles, balloons, feathers, etc. @2:04 of the MV, there is a ball rolling into a very narrow place ahead, that the girls keep chasing the ball like they are being tricked and cornered, and at the end of the narrow place, it is shaped like "V" like an anatomy of a girl, and you can hear a squeaking or creaking sound like it's a bed, and after that they pose or gesture like crying i think? and after that scene, it then punched through a wall, it's like implying for "losing virginity" then the creepy scene at @2:12, i think it shows they had something called post-coitus. i honestly like the song very much and i played it on repeat in the past few days but after i have watched the MV and did a little reading on other commenting posts, i found out that you can see many symbolism to it, instead of just having a cute and innocent concept for these poor young girls to have a dreamcore MV they just keep getting away with it. now its like having the same way of guilt listening to this song, just like the MV and lyrics from Cookie by NEWJEANS just wanna add that sorry if its exaggerated to have these ideas towards the song and sorry for the bad grammar, you can correct me if im wrong.
Wait that's really creepy ! I want to see their next comeback to see if it's going to be the same concept or not And can you explain to me a little what is the meaning of cookie by newjeans ? (Your grammar is good don't worry)
As a survivor of child SA myself and someone who is v close to the members in age, I saw the rumors and how other survivors apparently felt about the mv so I watched this mv many times, slowly, quickly, forwards, in reverse etc. The only thing that makes it feel off for me is the whole cutsey horror implied in the backrooms style parts. Which considering their concept is dreamcore and has to do with them having superpowers and escaping to a fantasy dreamlike world (My World, Midnight Fiction) to be the real them (Super Real Me) through their dreams...yes, dreams that aren't nightmare but still have you waking up uneasy are a thing and that is what that part represents to me. Sure, the arrow gif is a little odd, but jumping to that kind of conclusion is even stranger to me. Yes, young and older kids can and do draw flowers like that, I work with enough them that I should know. White socks are white socks and they aren't focusing so much on the feet but what's happening: Wonhee can control light, Yunah dropped the marble. The unicorn is a floppy limb stuffed toy, if you don't specifically position it then it looks like that when layed down, I know all mine do. And leave the idea of unicorns representing *that* well away from anyone of any age thanks. Kids like fantasy creatures, sure, but they also appear in dreams as a kind of guide or as a pet/friend etc I have friends, and I myself, who wear similar types of cute, girly outfits and have similar types of dreams where we are running through distorted and shifting doors and halls and hit claustrophobic dead ends. Things are odd and strange in dreams, hence colourful plastic bags not balloons, and the faces covered by shadows, stranger looking sets where you can't see the ceiling, shadowy figures, odd light sources. Also, a way I often know if something is a dream or not is counting my fingers, 10 fingers means it's real, 9 or less means it's fake aka a dream. A lot of this evidence is circumstantial at best, and doesn't really support the claims. You have to go out of your way to make a lot of them make sense within the context they're presented within the MV. It says far more about the people who started these claims than the producers and creative directors. And the girls are nervous because they get a lot of hate for pretty much anything they do and then this? I would've had a nervous breakdown by now (Thought I'd add that ribbons are generally seen as something girly, hair ribbons, ribbons as part of outfits. shoe ribbons, decoration for rooms (tied around an item to make it look cuter etc), jewellery. So the ribbon argument doesn't carry any weight either and it's confetti on the bed not ribbons do people not use party poppers any more, balloons with confetti in them etc?)
Jordan you should react to Young Posse a new girl group with crazy MV's directed by Ben Proulx. Both their songs XXL and Macaroni Cheese have really cool directing and he's never had any experience directing for a kpop group before this! Most of the MV uses rendering and green screen
i saw this dude in an envado element ad, completely ignored the ad and searched for him on youtube for such a long time, scavenger hunt type of thing, not a drop of regret, this dude mad funny, and informative to noobies (like i) as well, top tier content keep it up 👍
Honestly was not expecting too much for this debut but it easily became a repeat song of mine. It has a sort of retro feel to it that I can't put my finger on.
I saw a guy comment about the V, he literally took a picture of himself sitting on a chair and spreading his legs v shaped and the angle of the camera looks down at the V, it’s exactly what it looks like in the MV. It is like lolita, implies female genital, but also the angle implies the girl is kneeling between a man’s legs.
i tried telling others how disgusting the mv is and i got called as a pedo and weirdo. it’s crazy how k-pop fans are able to pick sides and ignore such issues
Im so glad you reacted to ILLIT because of their amazing debut but can you also react to YOUNG POSSE 's comeback XXL. The mv is such a creative and fun rollercoaster whilst presenting such a good and trendy song. The girls really deserve a lot more recognition as rookies so i hope youll react to them in the future!😄
I was nervously waiting for their debut. Even if 1 of my girls didn't make it to the team, I wish them allllll the best! Looking forward to more songs. P.S. Jordan, I think it's pronounced as eye-lit short for I'll achieve it :)
To be honest, now I just feel that this mv is very disgusting and horrible. It's disgusting because the clips about mv are very repulsive, and they all revolve around pedophilia. And what scares me is that this mv is still there and has not been removed.
Normal ppl watch this and saw none of that if your mind is usually in the gutter like that’s your problem but ur not going to blame normal people who watched it and saw none of that for being wrong. This is just you and Chinese people’s problems well who started this in the first place.
@@jennifer7317 im a victim of pedo. and i felt very uncomfortable when watching this mv. are you saying that its my fault to feel uncomfortable because im a victim of pedo?😊
I'm usually understand scenes when there r is pedophile scenes but I don't see any weird in this video u less there is a secret meaning. It seems ,yk many ppl calling a pedo vid just bcz its like trend
This kinda random artsy dreamy concept reminded me of NewJeans' Cool With You MV. Even the energy in their dance reminded me of NewJeans' dynamic, energetic, and youthful way of dancing and moving across the screen. The music though is pretty unique (at least for me, based on the ggs I'm currently watching and supporting) and catchy. It isn't a show off piece where it is powerful and has that desire to stand out. I could jam to this when I'm just chilling and I will still be impressed by it. Among the 5th gen groups, I would look forward to this group along with KISS OF LIFE and BABYMONSTER. I just hope though that they would have a standout theme of their own and would not just be another NewJeans, because for me, NJ is still pretty new, and I fear they might just rush to make stuff for both of them that they would be just almost sister groups.
hi jordan, i think you would really like young posse MVs! They have a really cool editing style and lots to talk about. They also released an unedited versions of their latest MV 'XXL'.
Unexpectedly getting this bop dreamy debut song for my daily moods, it's so catchy ngl, sometimes this kind of song just gonna be b-sides in the other hands of kpop group, but I'm glad it's title track, it can growing their popularity tho and I'm looking forward for their music in the future!✨
I get some NewJeans vibes from this song. Excited for what music they release next! Maybe a new group to stan! Also consider reacting to "Young Posse - XXL", because the MV is hilarious, creative, just so fun!
this was such a cool video! learning about editing whilst watching and listening to one of my favourite songs was great!! looking back, there's lots of unicorns, so maybe that could be linked to the fandom name? anyway, i hope you enjoy illit! you should check out young posse aswell!!!!!!!!
ILLIT is a girl group which is composed of 5 members : Wonhee (Korean. She was born in 2007), Minju (Korean. She was born in 2004), Yunah (Korean. She was born in 2004), Iroha (Maknae. Japanese. She was born in 2008) and Moka (Japanese. She was born in 2004). The girl group was formed through a survival show called "R U Next?" which was a collaboration between JTBC and HYBE. The group debuted on March 25, 2024.
Great Video but can´t we actually see there are 2 different scenes because of the wall in the back at 6.25 ? In the transition there is an extra white wall in the back or I am wrong and it's only 1 Lockeroom ?
the fact that this song if just super addictive but creepy and disgusting at the same time idk what hybe was thinking and what were they tryna explain in the vid like why did they choose to add disturbing things is the vid
@@hayleyconlonmills3288 you should really do some research or just watch the research others did, the scenes in this mv almost perfectly match the scenes described in a pedophilia perspective’s novel, the creeps think more than us, you have no idea how they common this mv as creepy af. And also, every single scene or shoot in a commercial mv was carefully edited, so there is no chance for them to say: “that’s an accident." We should really protect these girls more.
omg you NEED to react to artms' birth. legit the creepiest kpop mv ever. horror executed correctly (but no jumpscares dw) in a lot of the scenes theres the girls but the rest of the shot is a drawing. (Also its creepy but not satanic the weird characters represent the girls in their lore and the greek goddess artemis.)
I seriously thought it was friday, this has been a great way to keep the videos on my recommended (they're invading it like an infestation lmao but better than cockroaches)
Magnetic is spelled wrong, Jordan (not sure if that'll affect how well this video does in the algorithm?), just thought I'd let you know. Great analysis, as always!
I think the unicorn might be youngseo(6th member) bcz at the start there were 5unicorns-5members and we know that at some point there were 6members so...❤
would love to see your reaction to Chung-Ha's "Eenie Meenie" with Hongjoong from ATEEZ!! Chung-Ha's performance video to "I'm Ready" is also amazinggg, both songs are from her latest comeback if ur interested :)
Actually, at 5:47 there is 1 room but there is 2 locker sides. It's not just the same spot because look at the background. Idk if you're just explaining how to transition into the same room but look different but I just wanna point this out.
This is me still waiting for you to react to BOYNEXTDOOR music video, its so scrumptious and fun looking!! I recommend reacting to ' BUT SOMETIMES ', they also have a new comeback soon on April 15th!
I think that the story is about 5 girls with super powers who are maybe locked away (kinda like the new jeans omg mv) and they use there powers throughout the mv to find the unicorn like superstrength ,light manipulation , teleportation , Telekinesis and stop time
1:11 sounds like kimoji in Japanese which uses very often in a sexual way. The bae bae bae part sounds like bed bed bed. Additionally, dash- da dash-da dash-da sounds like dash dad, dash dad…😟This is really creepy especially when they dressing like little girls but ended up in a surroundings that is in a bedroom or hotel hallway
Bro some of the video shots looks like a backrooms, and its slowly become creepy the way they look and move like a doll or a ghost children and a creepy room horror movie. This is really interesting of what's behind the lore and the story of this mv, i really like it makes it interesting to dive in and the songs is bop.
