One of my subscribers ( @eschmar ) asked whether it was possible to use the mic from the Razer Blackshark V2 Pro (2023) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pGtRLI_guv4.html with the Logitech G Pro X 2 (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FgaC8ETroJk.html). So since I had both headsets I thought I'd test that. The comment suggested that there's a replacement mic you can buy for $20, but all I can find is this www.razer.com/replacement-parts-audio/Razer-BlackShark-V2-BlackShark-V2-Pro-Detachable-Microphone/RC30-03220300-R3M1 which is for the OLDER model of the V2 Pro, so isn't as fancy as the newer mic. Keep this in mind. I've asked Razer's PR and they said that the V2 Pro 2023 Edition mic likely won't be available until later on. So this video might have been a waste of time, but hey it still shows that the mic on the Razer Headset is great. Be sure to check out my other videos on both these headsets!
Even followed up with a whole video :) thank you so much for your effort! So it works and definitely is an upgrade, though switching back and forth between your razer videos and this, it doesn't quite reach the full razer setup quality. Which would imply that the inherent compression protocols in the headset make a larger difference than the mic capsules themselves... Quite interesting! Thanks again.
WARNING: Someone in the comments lower down claims they bought the older version mic from the above link and it did NOT fit, so it seems it will only work with the 2023 version once that's available.
Can you test the $50 Logitech Blue Icepop mic on the G Pro X 2? I think the Blue Icepop mic might actually make sense to use with that headset considering how bad the mic is.
No doubt it's an improvement but I went back to hear your Blackshark vs g pro x2 comparison and the blackshark mic on the blackshark definitely sounds clearer still...so i'm guessing the wireless mic audio processing is still just worse on logitech.
This video resulted in an emotional rollercoaster... I thought I finally found a good replacement for my Pro X mic then found out I can't buy it yet :((((((((
@@Jarejare1 will do man. I just got the headset today and man it blows whatever I've used in the past. Astro, Steelseries 5 and Pro. I love this headset. So far mic that comes with it is ok but definitely could be better for this price. I'll be getting that razer mic soon next week I think so will let you know how that goes.
@@TharinduPerera97 The only thing that makes me hesitant to buy it is the mic. Other than that, everything I've heard about this headset is good. I'm just waiting for a sale to buy it
@@Jarejare1 honestly been using the mic and its not as bad as reviewers point it out to be. Get the headset its too good. I've been enjoying it so far quite well. The range is amazing I can go downstairs into my kitchen and still hear my discord. really well built headset. I love it
@@Jarejare1 I got the mic today from AliExpress. The quality is the same its fantastic. The original mic from the Razer headset. Although you need to tweak it around to get the best sound out of it. Slightly better than the original mic but as someone mentioned on here the audio processing from Logitech for the mics is bad/worse than the Blackshark V2 Pro 2023
This is exactly what I was looking for. Interesting to know we can simply plug and play decent mics into it. I wonder can you use any other 3.5mm jack mics... even ones not for a headset? I fancy jerryrigging a higher quality mic or even going through the process of custom designing my own with off the shelf parts... am I missing something?
Ugh, when is this Razer mic going to be back in stock?! I purchased the Logitech headphones a couple of weeks ago and would like to upgrade mic. *Sigh*
Its totally not "Illogical " ! I lost the logitech mic during moving to a new apartment and this is for me a ultimate solution. Thanks for the video, in my country its impossible to find a Logitech spare part.
Hi everyone, I ordered the Razer spare part mic to test this, and I can confirm that it doesnt fit on the Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed unfortunately. No matter how hard you push it into the 3.5mm jack. Money in the ocean unfortunately.
@@dylan9040It seems that the spare part in the link is not the same as he is demonstrating in this video. It has a different design to the mic itself as well as wider plastic around the 3.5 connection.
what i’m wondering is - it seems the quality was best on the wired pro x. If the pro x 2 was plugged in via usb or headphone jack, would the mic improve?
I have the Logitech pro x wired bc the mic is really good do you think if I upgraded to these and used them wired id get the mic quality of the wired pro x and sound of the pro x2
How is G PRO X 2 sound quality (not microphone's) after long term use? Do you recommend it for games, music and movies? I know they are a bit bass heavy but what do you think?
Hey ProvokedPrawn :) thanks for the video. I got a problem with my G Pro X2 microphone, maybe you can help as an expert. My microphone sounds great to me when I record myself in Ghub or with the Windows Recorder, but in Discord and Games my friends say I sound muffled, like talking into cloth or smth. You got an idea what the problem could be? Tried different profiles, filters, effects, latest drivers and got no options now :(
@@TheProvokedPrawn Thank you for your quick response :) I already turned Krisp off in Discord and in Games the mic is muffled as well, no matter which game I play. Doing records on my own the quality is good to very good. Also, I cant find these pro broadcaster mic profiles you have. Are they only for the older G Pro headset?
I have the same problem. When i hear the recording on GHub it sounds perfect, but when i hear myself on discord (on a friends twitch) the sound is completely different. I think somehow its using a different profile for discord/games... Also, i'm using the Razer V2 Pro micro that you were using in the video. Its a lot better than the original one, no doubt... at least on Ghub.
i was playing some pubg with some friends and switched from my old sennheiser to the logitech. they told me i sound hardcore cr*p. now after some time playing around, i noticed i can set the level to 3 and the mic still works like a charm (instead of 100 where it was before). now my friends told me i sound much better. i have it now at 5. at 5! i am used to have this at 70-80, or even 100. seems like there is a big software problem going on. anyone else who can confirm that?
