Today I'm unboxing, giving first impressions and reviewing the Hex Snake Carbon fiber ILM motorcycle helmet that I bought from Amazon for $270 usd
There is a lot I look for in a motorcycle Helmet and I always have trouble finding one that checks my boxes, Lightweight, Drop down visor, carbon fiber, quick release terminals, a rear spoiler and of course I want it to look good. this ILM seems to check most all my boxes, but there are some flaws as well. The vents are not the best looking but my GoPro covers the front one, The top vent doesn't let a lot of air in and whistles when in the middle position. nit the best looking vent from my camera that I mount on the bike. The quick release hits my neck (same as my Shoei gt air 2) and the speaker pocket holes are up and back away from my ears. Maybe I got a size to small, but I bought it going off of the size chart they give. On the bright side, the visor goes down far enough unlike many other helmets and it's light weight. I have worn this helmet for hours and never felt my neck getting aggravated even though I sweat a lot. It's very comfortable and I like the one piece removable helmet liner pads, very easy to take out and put back in. The visor seems sturdy but it does fog up easily. It has the ability to add anti fog strip but doesn't come with one, also it only comes with the clear visor and I don't see an option to order a tinted visor anywhere. all and all I think this helmet is a bargain, at only $270, It's half the price of my Shoei or iCon.
