Nice lighters, I dont own one, and since I will not be using the built in tamper, I oredered the Peterson which dont have it, instead uses the space for more gas capability in the tank. We shall see how that one performs. Thanks for video.
Thanks for making this video! I have yet to pull the trigger on one of these beauties... it was nice to see them from different angles, and how they work.
I collect vintage lighters, have an affinity for vintage pipe lighters specifically; so far the nimrod commander is by far the best functioning pipe lighter I have ever tried. It works even better than the original nimrod pipeliter. Better than any of the other dozen or so vintage models I have tried as well. It’s like what the zippo pipe lighter insert WANTED to be. The lid not flopping around on the hinge is a HUGE upgrade
What do you think about the actual Zippo pipe inserts? I'm thinking about putting one into something like a Zorro 912 that has a beefier body and hinge and gasket around the body and lid to prevent fuel loss.
All the chrome plate came off my poker. So now I have an all brass poker on an all chrome lined Old Boy. Mine has worked flawlessly since I got it almost a year ago. And I use mine everyday 20 times a day every day. I'm very very pleased with the Corona Old Boy. I wonder if the Xikar old boys are as good as these. Good upload!
If you are speaking of the Xikar Pipeline, I tried it out because I didn’t want to shell out the money for the IM Corona. The phrase you get what you pay for reigns true here. I thought Xikar’s version felt very cheap. Definitely not worth $60 at all. BUT, it did work. Lit every time. Just not worth the money in my opinion. More like a $15-$25 dollar lighter. Cheers.
I have a couple Kiribi but been curious. I grew up when gold was considered gawdy. So… I went with that for a change. I wanted the briar of course but a little worried about that cracking if I dropped it or anything. Those are both ones I looked into for sure. I’ve not even lit mine yet. Got it earlier today and just filled it. It’s smaller than I expected but not a bad thing at all. Thx for the vid!
I have the gold and briar, I like the lighter, I only use it while at my des, however I am very dissapointed on th plating... The gold plating has worn badly on the bottom . I wonder if you will have the same issue in time?
@@d1gitaldeath i know what you mean, but if you open it, to fill it up, you´ll see the butane injector. And just a quick adwise, don´t fire up a pipe with jet fire... it´s too hot for the bruyere pipe wood, always use soft flames for it bro..
