Music is one of the most healing types of art. It touches us in ways we can't describe and shows us that we're not alone. Every time I listen to a piece of music like this, I feel like I'm shaking hands with the artist
Hey James. One of my favorite pieces of classical music that brings healing is a piece of church music by Vivaldi called 'Nisi dominus - cum dederit' and sung by Andreas Scholl. Scholl is a counter tenor, which means a man who, by intense training, can sing as high and pure as a female soprano while keeping the power of the male voice. It's truly a piece that could've been sung by angels.
It's interesting that you would go to Schubert at about the same time as you've been getting into Joni Mitchell. She felt that in her earlier songs she was writing music in the same tradition as Schubert's songs.
People should always be proud of there music and culture and not of their politics and governement. Thats what I am as a german in this moment listening to this wonderful piece of music
Just beautiful! There are many stunningly beautiful movie soundtracks as well: Schindler’s List, The Mission (especially Gabriel’s Oboe), and Somewhere in Time are some of my favorites.
This makes me so nostalgic! When I was young I played violin. My pianist mother and grandfather (an orchestra conductor) had me play duets with them. It made me read music at a young age. We always had music in the house. I miss them.
Hi James, love ur ch, been a subby since the start. I've suffered frm depression all my life(58). I want u to kno how much of an inspiration u r to me. U r such a beautiful soul. Beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Here is a couple of my favorites I'm sure you'll love: "Rustle of Leaves" By Christian Sinding, "To a Wild Rose" By Edward MacDowell and Beethoven's "7th Symphony, Second Movement."
I'm not sure but I don't think you have ever reacted to Joni Mitchell's incredible music. There is a goldmine of material waiting for you to hear. Brilliant, timeless music and lyrics. She borders on classical in some of her compositions. "A Case Of You, River, Down To You, Both Sides Now....so many gems. Start with the studio versions.
I think my all time favorite is Debussy's "Clair de Lune": ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WNcsUNKlAKw.html Also love Chopin: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-p29JUpsOSTE.html Debussy's "Rêverie": ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_CUC2-S1NMI.html
I'll throw these 2 suggestions for future.... Dvorak, new world symphony (classical) Phil Driscoll (Christian, but not how you think... masterful music) Again, best of wishes and thoughts.
I hope it's not your grandfather. I know how much you talk about and rely on him..... with that said, I hope it's not anyone really.... I don't comment much, but for a professional musician, you are a treasure.... love all of your reviews. Much respect and sincere prayers for your family
Nice reaction. Schubert is just one of the very best. As an aside, I think you should make a copy/backup of this entire channel as a test and ask your subscribers to subscribe to that new clone channel as well. Give it a similar but different name and of course keep this channel. See if that other channel gets a lot more views and even brand new subscribers. Because i think the amount of views you've been getting recently on this channel is ridiculous and some BS. I've seen a different user that was in a dead end channel after a strong start do what i described first and it really changed things up. He then changed the old channel into a different type of channel with a lot less updates and continued with the new channel as his main. I knows it sucks because it's kind of like starting all over (but it really isn't; your subscribers are more loyal than you think) and a lot of work, but something is just strange here...
The original is PIANO and vocals, he did NOT play guitar, that's a myth. This would sound RIDICULOUS as a guitar song. Schubert himself would be DELIGHTED by this performance.
