The whole thing literally started with Richie being dead and yet part of me really hoped he somehow made it. You did a great job with this, you *really* elevated the emotions of the scene and I love how you interpreted it!
@@ChestersonJack His body was indeed at the school, in the locker room (where he was slain) specifically. It just happens to overlap with mentioning Jagerman’s situation, and _then_ Max’s body actually being found.

I listen to this part of the song a lot. Props to both actors. Something about Richie's death hits me despite it being a comedy-horror. It's different from Ruth, who goes out at a low point. Richie was actually riding high when he got offed, and that's sad. Plus he says "nani?!" in everyday life just like me, so like, relatable

What's worse is the implication with this animatic (with the chorus) is everyone was watching the game and didnt even notice Richie and Max, honing in on the part of "who will pray for us when we're gone?" Because barely anyone cared to mention Richie or Max when they were dead, all everyone cared about was the game.

Oh my god that end part of "please don't kill me" is absolutely amazing, the whole thing is brilliant but that final part and where it cuts off is just perfect! And the musical only recently released on RU-vid too! This is just amazing and brilliant and I love it

Honestly, I know the whole dying thing and coming back as a ghost thing has sorta warped Max’s personality for the worse, but I definitely feel like he was projecting for parts of this song. If I died, and when I came back I saw not only did people not care about my absence, but doing BETTER then they were while I was alive, I’d feel pretty awful and angry too.

Max's sharp teeth and intense eyes and all the sharp angularity agshsjdlkl especially at 0:17 & 0:31 You've translated their overall designs so effectively, with just the right amount of details And R's looks of surprise (eg 0:14 & 0:24) :0 And the absolute DRAMA of Max holding him out at the top of the stairs omgggggggggg aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa the rotating shot and then that wide at 0:44???? Wow. Like, really letting that line reverberate and fill the space and then it's back to focusing in on R and he cries but the angle is LEVEL and he even had the HIGHER position for "I'm not a loser" likje,; he's powerless in this situation but the weakness is pulled away for that moment of strength (strength he's gained from his community without Max there to terrorise everyone & is now able to draw on even when he's back) aough ToT

It’s so good, but be warned, it is part of a series, and while the installments stand on their own, they’re definitely best enjoyed in the order they were released. This one’s the third and most recent of the main musicals. There are a bunch of mini storytime style semi-musicals called Nightmare Times in between too but they’re less essential although also provide some lore context. If you’re interested, I’d start with The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals, then Black Friday, then if you have the patience the Nightmare Times or if not just straight to Nerdy Prudes Must Die which is this brand new one this song is from! I know it’s a steep time investment compared to most musicals but I promise it’s so, so worth it! All three are so incredibly good and fun and just ahh! I can’t recommend them highly enough, but in order is definitely the least confusing, most enjoyable experience because there is a lot of lore!

The way that he runs away and all of the tears running down his face at the end oh my god you just made this song 10 times sadder than it already was. The added movement is so cool too, I like how the camera spins around when Max picks up Richie

Bro that motif from “Cool As I Think I Am” is used SO WELL in the rest of the show. Always gives me chills when it comes up. Especially in nerdy prudes must die and dirty dudes must die, that build up is just so freaking good and ominous, and ugh, I never get tired of hearing it.
SCREAMING. This was probably my favorite moment in the musical, and you just perfected it. I am absolutely obsessed with that art style. Everything was just so well-done.
