Charlotte is the one ,she helped and supported that lad ,she got her driving test to get them both around ,Then the rat dumped her,I’ll never listen to him again.
@@kp-qr6hy No one was dumped. BGT audition was in 2012 (They were teenagers) at the end of that season, Simon signed them to his SYCO record label for 1M British Pounds. They did 2 albums and toured together. Next, SONY offered them each a Solo Contract. Charlotte's album was released first. After, She Decided To Return To Music Art's School and Graduate. She now has a successful career in Musical Theatre which was always her Dream and has performed on London's West End! Both are doing what they love. I"m happy for both of them.
@@kp-qr6hy Then you'll be missing out on the best voice of this generation. Jonathan stood up for Charlotte and defied Simon knowing that he could be kicked off the show. They had each other when they really needed each other while they were gaining confidence and figuring out who they were, and then moved on to their own successful careers. They were only 16 and 17. It wasn't meant to be a lifetime commitment, only just for the show.
Like you, I was not prepared for his beautiful voice. He is amazing and has such a beautiful soul. I loved watching you hear him for the first time. It sounds like you understood his pain and I am sorry you both had to go through that but I think you both did awesome. As you age things are usually easier to handle and you learn what to take to heart and what to realize is just poor judgement and not much sense of respect for others feelings. God bless.

That courage has a name, it is his faith in Charlotte's heart. Knowing he can trust in her gave him the strength to trust himself. He could not have faced that audition on his own. Even with her beside him, he was shaking like a leaf. Simon spoke the truth and that can be hard to hear. Anything less than truth is not a kindness in the long run and so it needed to be said. Charlotte nodded because she has understood it all along. Destiny would meet Jonathan and guide him down a separate path. But this would not become a tragedy for Charlotte because her heart is in musical theater and she and Jonathan would remain forever friends. What a moment for them both.
I love your kind heart. I wish more people were as empathetic as you. I could tell you understood being bullied. I am so glad Charlotte supported Jonathan, and got him to perform with her, she changed his life! Also thanks to their music teacher for encouraging them to audition.

THAT was an astonishing voice! That's a once in a lifetime voice, like GOLD. She's good, could be great, but he's Stratospheric. And I was bullied and teased at school until college, had a couple toxic relationships too, you're a lovely joyous man, there's a way through to life after those times. Therapy helps.
It touches the human soul when we see a part of another's soul exposed in all of its beauty and radiance. No color, no creed, just the BEAUTY humanity is capable of, given the chance. Why does it always take us by surprise? We are here to help on another! Charlotte entered them, without his knowledge, because his girlfriend had dumped him, and in a fit of self-hatred, he'd slashed and slashed the skin of his belly. The best of this is that while HIS voice was heard in all of its beauty, HER soul shone in her love and selflessness. She BROUGHT him here, and was perfectly willing to let him go on without her, and THEN...he refused to leave her behind. They've both done well, but more importantly, they're truly good humans.

Since this video is from 2012 a lot has changed for both of them. Jonathan has grown so much as a person and as a performer, it's really quite amazing. Being a man who was once bullied as a child, I remember the pain and hurt of those early years. As you get older you realized to never let another person's idea of you, define you. Another person's negative POV doesn't determine your true self. Once you accept that, hateful words mean nothing. To thine own self be true my friend.
You would think as soon as Charlotte said their “Music teacher” put them together and they sounded quite good, that Simon would think they might be really good, but he kept judging. You didn’t see Jonathan’s hand shaking after he finished singing. So emotional. I’ve seen this many, many times, and I still cry, while smiling, and feel so much love and care for Jonathan and Charlotte. She didn’t treat him like most people would suspect a girl of her looks and confidence would. I LOVE that Jonathan supported and stuck by her, like she did for him. I wish they were still together, or sing together sometimes. Even now, that Jonathan is world famous and in his own solo career, he is still humble, loving, and caring of others, as well as of himself now. He is confident. I thank Charlotte and his music teacher for helping him to share his love and talent with the world.
Yes, I thought the reference to the music teacher was a huge giveaway that there was something pretty good about them. Even the fact they had a music teacher.
THIS IS AN INSPIRING STORY I saw the original show as soon as it aired over here. He went on to become a professional opera singer. Simon sent them on a tour of Italy and met with famous opera teachers. They were all impressed with him and one said that he didn't need to coach him because his Italian was great.
Yes, Pavarotti's voice coach said there was nothing he could do for Jonathan, he was already there, and month's after this audition Placido Domingo asked Jonathan to be his special guest for the iTunes Festival!
New Music Video, Jonathan Antoine singing "lo Si/Seen" per Diane Warren's request! BEAUTIFUL!!! There is a video from 2010 of Jonathan (before BGT) singing Ava Maria in a Church when he was just 15 years old. That video has over 5 million views. "lo Si" was filmed in that same Church.
As someone who suffered for years at the hands of bullies, this audition always speaks volumes to me! Those condescending people smirking at them at the start of it... well, it's best not to say what I think! Yeah, this one gets me every time as well... that beautiful, confident voice - and yet his little hand is shaking with nerves as he holds his microphone. The amount of courage that must have taken him, just to even get up on that stage. And you, sir, have a beautiful nose, and a beautiful soul. I'm glad you didn't listen to all the people who put you down, so that we can all watch your videos today - we need more people like you in this world.

I think Simon became kinder after having his own son, perhaps realising how much it hurts if anyone does or says anything cruel to your own flesh and blood. A lot of it was for dramatical effect but sometimes he went too far. Happy New Year James, that was a really touching reaction. X
You are so right, and I have noticed that over the years Simon has gotten a little kinder, but I also see where he comes from as well. He makes his money on talent, since he owns a record label and signs acts, I understand that he has to be tough as well.

Jonathan went on to become a solo singer and has a number of beautiful videos of his amazing voice. I believe he also has a recording contract. He is so great with a lovely presence. Lesa Ahrenstein Ahem... these shows are all meticulously planned. Susan Boyle was not a surprise, neither were these two. They are all picked and told how to behave to make a sap show for people. The singers are amazing, the judges are... blah.
