Ahaha, yeah. Thing is people get their i7 & i9s mixed up. A low power i7 will be rubbish compared to a higher TDP unit. You hear it the most with the lol omg I can get an i7 for 500 quid compared to your 2k Apple etc.
I love how fast parallels feels versus the latest version of VMware fusion. I even get fusion for free from work and yet I pay with my own money for parallels. The experience is that much better. Would love to see your comparison video too tho.
Interested on the 5700 Pro 8Gb performance in Heaven Benchmark, Extreme mode to see how it compares to the 5700XT 16Gb. Either way thanks for the video !
The loss of contrast and addition of minor hazing is a so far unavoidable side effect of matte displays. It's definitely a trade off and one that should be made carefully. Glossy displays always look better if glare is not present.
I'm a windows user but looking into an iMac purchase before they go to Silicon. This was really helpful because I don't see many reviews showing windows programs on the Mac. If you were given the option to wait for Silicon or grab the last of the Intel, what would you do?
Nobody really knows what will happen to being able to run windows on Apple chips unfortunately. I'll be getting the most powerful Intel based unit I can lay my hands on, and then see how the ARM stuff develops.
just got my maxxed out 2020 imac 8.5k education AU....biggest regret is the nano texture...looks like a cheap sandpaper screen protector.....ive used a hp 4k display which is matte and doesnt look soft like the imac. i think i might return and swap for the gloss......tho i must say its fast...like really fast..with no fan noise.
Yeah the nano texture screen is a bit odd. I can see it being a good compromise if you do have a lot of direct light, however I much prefer the standard gloss screen.
How well does it work with streaming microsoft movies & tv through the VM machine? I found with my 2015 iMac 27", it stutters a lot...just curious if it does that with the 2020 iMac
@@MacRS4 That would be cool to know. My iMac has a lot of issues with virtualization and how slow things are. I have been considering the iMac 2020, the $2300 price one, mostly because it has everything I need. The problem is, I bought my iMac about 3 years ago because it was 2 years older and it was on sale, so I feel like if I don't keep this one, it might be a waste...but...would be nice to have the "last generation" of intel mac before it goes away for good.
