Hi Luke, what a fantastic video & certainly learned a few things from this ! I didn't know you can use a reference image to make an identical crop etc ! Your effort is so close to the Hubble image it's incredible 👏. I'll give it a go next week 👍

Great video. I processed the Bubble doing my own thing. I have been trying to add my image to the Instagram account without success.

Great video as always, you've really opened my eyes to what Pixinsight is capable of and might have to switch from photoshop! Thanks also for putting the Askar 120 Apo on my shortlist for next scope ;)

Interesting idea, I'll have a go at this for sure. I almost always remove magenta and green from SHO images so this will be a challenge for me on several levels!

I’ve never been one to use someone else’s data as the fun and excitement (for me) is taking the shots myself so I’m gonna point my scope to the bubble now whenever it’s clear 👍🏼👍🏼 be nowhere near as good as yours dude but it’s worth a shot (forgive the pun 😂) 👍🏼👍🏼 maybe a result in a year or so with this weather though 😫😂👍🏼

Not much on challenges, but I have never photographed or looked at the Bubble Nebula. So, when the weather clears up, I am going to go out and do a one shot color live stack of it. Thanks for he idea!

Insanely sharp!!!! How do you get such tiny stars?? Does seeing affect the star size a lot at 2350mm of focal length? I am using a EdgeHD 9.25 with a Zwo Asi 533mc-p
@lukomatico
@lukomatico 7 дней назад
Thanks so much mate!! Glad you liked the data on display 👍👍 The seeing certainly does affect the star size, but luckily BXT helps recover a lot of lost sharpness - still, to get the base data as good as it was for this project I went back to manually focusing with a bahtinov mask to ensure it was totally perfect every time, short exposures to ensure I could cull anything that wasn't perfect, perfect collimation and no wind - a lot of things had to be perfect basically 😅 this was done on the edge HD 11 at 2800mm F10 native Thanks for watching!

Luke, this was a great concept/challenge. The way you zipped through the processing to get your final image was inspiring. Your processing intuitions are amazing. A few months back I did the Bubble with about 30+ hours of intergration using my Askar Fra600, and that gascious column within my bubble is washed out, almost no detail. Wondering how you got such beautiful color and detail…was it the Edge? Or just you Lukomatico magic?
@lukomatico

Thanks so much Joe!! 👍👍 Re: that little structure, it's the brightest part of the region so can easily burn out during capture or processing, you may need to mask it and gently de-stretch if it's going too bright!
