This version of the John Lennon classic “Imagine” was recorded on March 5, 2020 at Tunesmith Studio in Nashville, TN. It appears on his 'Imagine EP'. Listen to the 'Imagine EP' here: slimstyle.lnk....
This was the last recording Tommy Emmanuel did before the pandemic started in the US. It was produced by Tommy, engineered by Brad Benge, mixed by Tommy & Brad Benge, and mastered by Marc DeSisto. He wanted to do something special for John Lennon’s 80th Birthday (10/9/20).

I still don't understand people who dislike good music, good technique, good performance?? And I don't understand people who whine about a problem as non-existent as this one. Why focus on 22 dislikes (some of which might have been missclicks/bugs etc) that are absolutely non significant compared to almost 6000 (already and will be many more) likes which shows that virtually almost everyone liked it? Also, you cannot have everyone like something/like you and sooner you realise it and do your thing you are gonna be better off.

I wonder what John’s reaction would be if he could see this. Absolutely stunning. I’ve been a fan of Tommy for about 15 years and have met him once. Worked at a 5 star hotel in Nashville and several places in Hollywood meeting many famous people, Tommy was the only one that had me star struck. All I could tell him is “you’re my hero” and he said with a laugh “I’ll play my best for you” never will forget that moment

Just imagine what might be possible if we taught our children how to love the beauty and simplicity of creating music, solving problems and doing it all again from another perspective. What a wonderful, amazing tribute! Imagine that these days John Lennon has been gone for as long as he walked among us. It brings me tears to my eyes to think of how much I miss his voice in this world. Tommy Emmanuel continually demonstrating that he's at the frontier of what's possible in fingerstyle guitar, both on a technical but especially on an emotional/soul level. Some people have a gift for turning emotion into melody in a very pure and direct translation, and Tommy is one of those people.

How Great Thou Art and Amazing Grace played by Emmanuel are beautiful songs that have special meaning to me. To me, he is truly one of the greatest guitarists of all time. And when I saw a video of him signing autographs and guitars, he took time to sit down with a fan and play music with him. That showed me this man has kindness, class and appreciates his fans.

Lennon’s not in heaven and he’s singing about it on the song, unless he got saved. Jacob Prasch gave him the chronicles of Narnia two weeks before he got shot. you have to have Jesus as your Lord and Savior to go to heaven. For Him to be your Lord you have to do what he says to do & read the Bible. Bible does not contradicted by 40 writers proving both, that God wrote the Bible and that man is without excuse on judgment.

This guy has played for 10-12 hours a day for many years. I saw him live in a small theatre about 25 years ago and it was one of the most amazing shows I’ve ever seen. And he has continued to hone his craft since then. It’s amazing to watch someone this dedicated. Frustrating, knowing I will never get even close but amazing.
