Vangelis was using machines to make his music and now, the machines are using him to make music. Vangelis did not made every song on an album good, they were really unequal. But AI did. Long live the Master. Who knew that humans were only part of the puzzle? Humans + AI = Infinity.
I would add that AI often produces weak, repetitive, boring, parodic songs. I throw a lot of stuff in the trash before I make an album like that. I understand the composers that if they put a lot of work into making 10 songs, they regret throwing away 90% of them just because they are not exciting enough. I can do it without regret and throw out the songs that are not good enough.
You can take all the AI algorithms you like, combine them in a million different ways, but artistically and musically, you can still never recreate what made Vangelis special, and what he was able to do. Whilst this is an interesting exercise using AI, it is also a futile one, devoid of a soul, a heart or the spirit and spark of creativity, that made Vangelis so unique and inspirational. Just like all the other human copy cat nobodies out there, this Ai copy cat attempt, is lifeless, and soulless. And that sums up why AI, and anyone else will never be able to emulate the likes of Vangelis, Mozart, Beethoven, Jean Micheal Jarre, or Mike Oldfield, and others...They are all unique, one offs. AI is good at emulating style, tone, sounds, rhythm etc...But it lacks a human heart, a creative mind and soul.
