One of the theories of the cause of retroperitoneal fibrosis is it starts by aortic atherosclerosis inflammation (aortitis)

Alot can cause RPF, it can be idiopathic, surgery, hemorrhage, mthesurgide use, retroperitoneal infection, radiation and other causes , you can Google it for a more detailed list

Not always, but in some cases they will have aortic stenosis
