Shump had a horrible take on Russ🙄, Russ did in fact have the ball in his hands most of the time, he brought the ball up the court as usual he got his touches………..Russ was not just supposed to be cake and just add to the team he was supposed to relive bron from having so many minutes and scoring load and run the offense……..Russ was a disaster and litteraly missing wide open DUNKS and having the ball fly out his hands to a wide open fan in the stands on a nightly basis! 😤🤦🏽‍♂️

I agree and disagree. Sometimes a player needs to be able to adapt. When Lebron came into the NBA you still had traditional centers and there were more mid range scoring. It then transitioned to more of a 3 point shooting league. Lebron had to adapt, he worked on his shooting to where you couldn’t leave him open at the 3. When Kyrie and Lebron played together they both had to get used to not having the ball in their hands as much as they want. Was it unfair to ask Russ to be something he never was, probably. That being said I think that Lebron, AD and fans were hoping that he could adapt his game to fit in with what they were doing.

I came into this vid not seeing no clips before it, and Before watching I wanted to agree w what shump would say, but I gotta say he wrong for this one. It ain’t about we as laker fans expecting Russ to give us the FULL value of 44M, it’s about us expecting SOME VALUE AT ALL. The REASON why people point at the 44m is because they, unlike shump apparently, understand what kind of production (when spread between role players) 44M can get u you. Y’all know how much that would have paid for during the heat Lebron era?Thats enough for a Shane battier, mike Miller, Ray Allen, birdman, aaannndd etc… The problem lies in Russ not giving even close to enough value for his deal. Not Russ’ fault he’s payed this much at this state in his career, BUT it is his fault for his lack of amenability, effort, and care w basketball. ALSO Russ pads his stats because 19 7 and 7 does NOTHING to truly represent how much of a NEGATIVE impact he had on court. Luv for shump tho

Yes you can. He had games where he completely took over and they still lost because of bad rotations or the bench not doing their job. There was one game (and I forgot who they playing against) where he absolutely took over in the third quarter, with the help of DJ. And then after that their lineup was not played again. Mind you they were down I believe 10 or 15 points in the first half and for a portion of the third quarter. If K remember correctly the lineup that they played after that was a smaller one that just got cooked and they lose the game. Or games where he played well and it’s a very tight score in the final minute. Lakers will be tied or down 1 point and have a inbound play because of a foul or timeout, Melo is the lineup, and then on the inbound play you learn that coaching actually drew up nothing as Westbrook or somebody else gets the ball and it’s a pure iso. Nobody else is moving - at all. No screens. Nothing. Even if Melo was hot that game nothing was drawn up for him to get the ball. Defense doesn’t move. Contested brick shot. Lakers lose.
