IMAX. Fight Night [Part 2] 'Batman v Superman' Ultimate Edition 

I love how Superman’s head just gets more and more perfectly still after those punches from Bats, legit lives up to the “Man of Steel” title

Affleck really conveyed Bruce's rage VERY well.

They told me the world only makes sense if you force it to.” I mean, wow! What a powerful line, and it embodies the essence of what this film is about. The different ways these two heroes view the world, and what they have been taught to understand about humanity. Clark was taught by Jor-El that he could be a symbol for humanity, to guide them on a path to virtue and hope. But as he continued his journey, he saw that humanity is not always good, that every person has just as much potential for evil and cruelty as they do for being good. And that causes him to question his efforts as Superman and in order to finally prove himself worthy of humanity’s approval he must sacrifice himself for them. Bruce, on the other hand, has spent twenty years seeing the worst of humanity, their cruelty and brutality as he’s fought criminals in Gotham. He has seen the best of humanity turn into criminals, good young men who have fought by his side die at the hands of madmen and then become evil themselves, and how many people have died at his hands because he was unwilling to the one thing that needed to be done in order to stop the chaos. Which is why when he says the world only makes sense if you force it to is so profound, because he has forced this world to abide by his rules, by how he sees the world, and in that way he can control it. Superman was something he couldn’t control, and something he just couldn’t believe in because he couldn’t believe that anyone could be that good and virtuous and only saw the eventuality of Superman becoming a threat. Which is why he did the only thing he knew how to do, stamp out the threat before it became one, with no thought of who Clark was and no understanding that Clark has been more human than Kryptonian.

I *love* the way Zimmer uses an off-key rendition of his Man of Steel theme when the Kryptonite wears off. The Superman motifs in their normal forms (both the Williams and Zimmer scores) should only ever be used to punctuate spectacular acts of heroism, but here he shifts the key to make the theme seem a little more edgier, more sinister as Superman seems to abandon reason and let rip on Batman. This is what galled me about Elfman's use of the Superman heroism motif in the Justice League Whedon Cut, playing it while he's trying to kill the Flash. It just seemed so out of place. Look forward to seeing how that particular scene plays out in the Snyder Cut, but I imagine it will be very different.

2:44 Ben Affleck's 'regular' Bruce Wayne voice sounds much more scarier and closer to Kevin Conroy's iconic voice as opposed to the one that was used for the suit's voice changer, not that i had a problem with the modulated voice that was used for Batman in this movie but i would have preferred if they kept it to a much more raspier and quieter voice like the one here as it sounds much more badass and closer to the animated series.

Seeing this movie in IMAX is one of those things I'll never regret and always cherish for the rest of my life. Such a visual spectacle. Haters can go ahead and suck it. Please remain seated and wait until I give a flying shit about your opinion on this movie. Edit: I know it seems like an overstatement, but I'll provide some context: I live in Chile, and we only have one IMAX screen in all of the country, so I had to travel from the city I live in to Santiago in order to actually see it. Wasn't cheap but I saved up for it, bc this was going to be the biggest comic book match up ever to be put on the big screen... I waited from that SDCC announcement to the very day of its release, 3 long years, but they were absolutely worth it, I legit cried when it started. The Ultimate Edition tho, that's what we should have seen in theatres, and now that it's 2020 and we're getting the Snyder Cut of JL, things are looking good for these iterations of these characters which I deeply love. Long live Batfleck 🦇🦇🦇

You can hear Superman's back crack when Batman knocks him out with the sink then picks him up and puts him over his shoulder.

I still wish we had some more back and forth in this fight. It was mostly just them taking turns pummeling each other rather than maximizing the time they had when Superman was weakened but not completely incapacitated.

I'm a die hard Marvel fan but I swear to god i love this movie.... I agree there are many plot holes in this but you know the story was building up for this one fight so it still works for me in my opinion

Super man has laser sight which can burn guns, but decides it's best for him to charge at batman knowing he has the green gas that weakness him... Hmmm...

Or are you friends with the studio and they gave the IMAX versions of those scenes to keep to check out that you decide to upload on your channel for your viewers ? Or are friends with Zack Snyder to get permission to those versions of those scenes ? please tell me :) Because I and everyone else have the ultimate edition on Blu-Ray and it doesn't have those scenes in that format/aspect ratio so how did you get it only ? Did you recorded it off of HBO channel when they premiered it in IMAX presentation ?

I love this fight but the one thing I hate is that Superman didn’t bleed a single drop of blood, like with the kryptonite in his system shouldn’t he be just an ordinary man that can be hurt? He should atleast bleed a little bit, In Superman returns the kryptonite made his weak and he could bleed, hell he always died

I am so tired of characters with super strength just throwing people around. I get that it is supposed to showcase their strength, but the guy ripped a manhole cover in half, is it really that impressive to see him throw Batman at that point? It's just the lazy way writers handle super strength, when Superman could have just flown down at mach 2 and splattered Bruce into gazpacho. I get that he wouldn't do that, but it is just stupid to have a fight with Superman when you know he won't kill anyway.
