Part of Kandy's success was the amount of post production her vocals received. Had they given the same amount of auto-tune to other contestants, or given less help to Kandy, the results would have been much closer. Not discounting that Kandy did well and nailed the choreography, but there was a definitely an advantage given to her.
Shiiit, the only reason Ru & the show have held onto Kahanna & pushed her for THIS long is so that she goes far enough to hopefully bring more people to see the damn Vegas show! 😑 At least that's what I think lol
The teacher docking Alexis for a lower case A triggered a memory of my 5th grade teacher who, on a test, cut EVERYONE’s score in HALF for sloppy handwriting. She gave everyone the opportunity to do it again but WOW was I pissed. She gave me a 50. Worst part. I got an 88 on the redo. I WOULDVE GOTTEN A 100 OTHERWISE.
I had a '99%' test result too when I got all the questions correct. The teacher said he 'never gives anyone 100%' and docked me for 'the way I wrote my name'. That wasn't even being tested, it was chemistry, FFS. 🙄 I'm bitter 30 years later. They don't understand what harm they do.
Miss Adams. Home Ec. I got an A- because I didn't stitch across the bottom of the zipper. I took it home to finish because the tension on my assigned machine had been mangled. Mom said if I stitched far enuf I didn't need to stitch across the bottom. My mom knew what she was talking about and Miss Adams resented it. She told me why it was A-. So I was young and dumb and proceeded to show her that there was no need to stitch across the bottom of that damn zipper. We were to wear out skirts at a fashion show. Miss Adams marked our hems. Took it home to hem and mom and big sisters had a fit. I showed up in my mini skirt and there was nothing Miss Adams could do about it. Mom was in the audience. It was 1970. I was the first on my jr high to wear a midi skirt. Also the first to wear hot pants to a school dance. My fashion forward big sisters had fun dressing me. I'm still setting trends. Love you two!
When I was a teenager my cousin and I would talk on the phone all the time (pre facetime) and one time he said "I gotta go, its too hard to talk on the phone and wipe at the same time" and I was so grossed out. So Im fully team Darby on the toilet front lol
I REALLY enjoyed this Rusical, too. Lyrics were great and we could understand the words and the queens all did such a fine job on their various Joan looks. Really enjoyed this one. Production must be really coming thru to show the ladies at their best. Kandy has now eliminated 2 of my 3 reasons for being excited about this All Stars. Glad tho to see the huge love we have for Jaymes being recognized so widely.
So were not gonna talk about how Kandy came on the runway in a Corset with shapes glued to it again while Jaymes and Kahanna got called out for giving Michelle „samesy“ 😭💀
Darby, regarding toilet-gate, I've seen two comments in support of Alexis, and I cannot let you be gaslit further, I AGREE. It is evil to facetime someone while on the toilet. You would never take an actual conversation into the bathroom with you, much less take your underwear off to sit down on the toiletseat. I love Alexis, but I cannot defend this.
I had a 4.2 grade average, and a teacher gave me a B, that put me down to a regular 4.0. I went to talk to him. I held his hand, imploring him to please change it to an A. I don't think Alexis did anything wrong and I do think Darby overreacted a tad as if she was a straight cis Catholic who has just encountered two affectionate drag queens and is worried seeing them might send her to hell. Regardless, I loved y'all discussing it so it's a content win for me. It's also a win for Darby because she's gotten Alexis to promise she'll never do something similar again. These personal moments are so adorkable and makes me love y'all all the more. Also a big hug to the behind the scenes people.

I really thought that Alexis could've been the winner if not for one thing: Did the wording really need to be that redundant? How was it that necessary to have the lyrics and spoken parts to include "don't fuck with me fellas!" repeatedly? It was funny but the songwriting efforts cost her the win in my opinion.

Kahanna said that her runway was based on a Grace Jones look that production didn't approve but she went ahead with anyways. production just found a similar looking look in post to use as the side by side, which is why kahanna didn't have a hula hoop
