I'm a video game reviewer. I review modern games. Why is such a simple concept hard for people to understand? If you really think contributing $60-70 to a game that cost $100 million dollars to make makes any difference, you need to take 1st grade math again lol. Not to mention, my videos result in a net loss of sales because people who would normally buy these crappy games probably won't after watching these reviews.

Well, the Raphael one (archdevil) at least makes sense, and The Emperor (mind flayer) is attracted to the main character no matter what, so that's not really a viable criticism. However I agree that there are far too many gay people. It's absurd.

The male character wants to fuck your ass through act 1-3 but i haven’t got a single sex scene with Shadowheart (the only good looking normal female). Granted, i haven’t done the final questline of finding her parents though.
@@Scav-Goblin Its like Bioware games where all companions are playersexual, except as far as I can tell (haven't played the game but this is what I heard from people who have played the game) there's no proper friendship system so if you get there companion level too high they will start flirting no matter what.

The lude scene in BG2 (the precious game) were well-earned. It took forever to get someone to wanna be with you. Not something you could achieve in Act 1.
Almost all, if not all of the Companion's 'Romantic' Scenes in Act 1 are actually Romantic in any ways. Most Companions just want to have 'Romantic' moment just for sake of it and they don't really like your character apart from being 'friends'. Only during Act 2 they will start to open up, if you talk to them and try to be friends with them and the true relationion ship actually form sometime in Act3, mosty after finishing their story quest. There are of course exceptions for some Companions. Some companions are more likely to open up them others and some are way harder to get into relationship.
@@RealFunnyCinema Yep, with some like Shadowheart taking as far as act 3 to get her lewd scene. Lae'Zel wants to go at it right away, and Astarion, which makes sense given their background - gith engage in segs in a more primal, carnal, not necessarily romantic way due to how they give birth, the whole egg left to incubate thing. For her, it starts with carnal pleasures, then the fluffy romance comes after (not that the carnal pleasures dont continue). And for Astarion, he was basically a vampire prostitute for 200 years. Having options & various choices is one of the main strengths of this game so I don't see why it'd be considered an issue for some companions to wanna hit it up sooner, and some much later. I do agree some of them may come on to you a bit too easily early on, before you set some boundaries, while u'r just trying to have a friendly convo so you could slip into a chars romance a bit w/o wanting to but even then, it's a minor issue at most as you'll typically have several opportunities of backing out before the scene initiates, and often even during.

When it comes to not buying games that have woke shit, I'm one of those, but I'm not crazy about it, I just ignore the product and keep searching for other games. And, being real, now I'm watching old movies, playing old games, and reading books, getting into philosophy, all that stuff. What it changed about before and now, it's that people has changed because of the internet... people talking about the propaganda with other people is what ignited the anti commie woke shit on gaming and other industries... I realize that propaganda has been on our entertainment for decades, it's actually revealing when you start to see old movies for example. Well here is where I think Synthetic's Man's regular viewers and himself diverge. He says that his viewers focus too much on politics, yet he also says that it's impossible to ignore leftist propaganda in our media, not just games, and he also says that the left is also obsessed with leftist politics. So when he says that he enjoys Baldur's Gate 3, after calling out propaganda in so many games, he is admitting to, and telling us, to ignore the propaganda if the "setting is what you like". There are plenty of enjoyable fantasy games that have been made, especially old ones which Synthetic Man always says that we should play old games, so again him saying BG3 is good goes against that as well. Like I said in my last comment on the review of BG3, Synthetic Man has been my favorite reviewer on this channel, but he contradicts himself too much here, and I can't not call it out. If we just keep ignoring the propaganda in games just because "we like the setting", then it will never go away.

I don't think any of those statements contradict each other. I'm telling you if a game is good enough then it is worth playing in spite of the propaganda. For example: If Ocarina of Time had a gay or trans character (Zelda/Sheik would be easy to change) and told you they're just like you and me, most people would still think it's one of the greatest games of all time.

It also makes these products very dated, sometimes even before they come out. By making every game an allegory to Orange Man Bad, for example, a game is stuck in that timeline and the replayability is lost. Future players will avoid it too. Far Cry 5 comes to mind(say what you will about the repetitive and boring gameplay) with the evil right-wing druggie religious cult, the old man on the porch, it's all stuck in that time period.

Your only option is to not play. I've had to walk back my affection for science fiction, because the genre has absolutely been taken over. Nowadays, no matter the how good the game is or what genre, I always read user reviews and watch videos on it, sometimes even spoiling the game by watching playthroughs, just to ensure that it doesn't contain anything I don't want to support. It can be tiring but it's better than giving money to people that hate you.
i dont know how starfield will turn out but the bar is so low for sci fi these days, i doubt its gonna be good sci fi, it will probably. have side quests about gay stuff in it, not sure how they gonna fit racism in there since there are no aliens. If people ask me wherever i am excited for judas that bioshock successor game, i ll just point out how the first thing you see in that game is a interacial marriage and this is what the game is gonna focus not "science fiction", God i am starved for some actual good sci fi. Last game that had good sci fi was julia among the stars and starcom nexus.

That's a good point actually, if you look at their previous games you will find there scarsely little of that shit. No black elves and dwarves. Distinctive races etc. Thought it's been some years since Original Sin 2, maby their attitude has shifted or they had to adapt to the new reality, but I think that Wizards of the Coast did play significant role in that. Still a great game though, it really saddens me to see so much tainted potential.

You know what could be good? A creativity is dead video discussing how so many games now a days are so by the number cookie cutter. Whether developers are copying open world, rpgs, battle royale, etc. Alot of that has to do with the higher ups obviously but looking back to the early to mid 2000s especially it seemed game developers weren't afraid to take chances not just with brand new IPs but long standing ones. I just dont play video games. Problem solved. I have no hope for games anymore. Maybe small Indie stuff with only gameplay is good, but I have never been a fan of those either. Entertainment is just so disappointing in general these days.

Bought the game based on your review, wasnt going to prior. You basically have to be rude as hell to your companions to not sleep with them. My first playthrough of Mass Effect I didnt even know you could end up with any of them. I picked responses based on Role Playing the default male shepherd face as a Patriotic Military Man. Some Paragon, some Renegade but my rp responses. This game you have to go out of character to not end up in bed. My character is a drow trying to set up a little power based on the surface for himself. Similar to how Jarlaxle was written pre DnD 4th edition time jump at which point I left dnd. So my character makes decisions on how he can get the best use out of people without as much expense as possible, maybe true neutral or neutral evil but who knows. IN the game I have to be a dick to all the companions except 1 of them or end up in a romance seen every time there is a game specific story camp. Its garbage for romance. You can't miss it by chance in this game. Feels unnatural like Marxist rewrites of every subject in college. 2+2 can equal five based on who is observing the math, that bs.

The original Menzoberanzan and its cast of characters was really interesting imo. Wish they did more about the Baenre period of Menzo without a hero party. I really enjoyed BG3, but I was sick of the diversity shoved into your face. Some of it could be explained away by Baldurs Gate being a diverse port city I suppose, but shemale pink haired orcs are really taking it too far. A lot of the random NPC’s really felt ridiculous enough to pull me out of the immersion at times.

BG3 is fun. But as a guy who started, and still plays 3.5e, it’s so tilted in the players favor it’s not even fun. No joke, I played one party member down, with just a fighter Tav, Lae,Zel and Karlach. By level 4-5 my fighters were getting 4 attacks a round! That’s 4 special attacks, then another 4, then 2 from Karlach. Rinse, repeat. No need for magic. The enemies couldn’t fucking keep up! 5e is baby DnD. I’m sorry, in my day you had to earn your fucking fireballs by suffering with a d4 HP for five levels.
Zero CRPG experience Zero DnD experience Wiped the floor by level 3 on Tactician while drunk because it was handed to me on a platter. I had to read the rules to make sure I wasn't cheating, just to learn that BG3 cheesed all of the 5e rules to make it doable in their game. It was all that easy. "We can't go past level twelve because balance!!!" *kills the avatar of a God of Death at level 8* There are *genuinely* people who complain about explorer being too difficult, I went in blind in just explored the map. These Dip*ucks do it for 90 hours and don't even clear the fog. Beyond pathetic - supremely insulting that they miss 90% of the map and then gush about how expansive it is
I find it funny when people say gaming is dead. Maybe for triple A stuff that always comes riddled with sjw nwo garbage obviously. But its not like we are out of games to play. There's literally HUNDREDS of good games to play rigth now. I am just playing some old RPGs I've never even heard before and I am having a blast. If you have a decent pc you got no excuse for complaining. As far as triple A go. Total War Warhammer 3 has stayed mostly woke-free so far. But its an RTS not for everyone. Been playing a lot of Jurassic World Evolution 2 and Stellaris which again are RTS. But they are pretty woke-free, except for Jurassic World, but you can totally ignore the woke crap (all scientist/staff are women, black/brown men and black women) and just focuse on the park and dinosaurs.
White Knight Chronicles was that ambitious semi-turn based jrpg where your character was only a sidekick, pretty much accidentally being stuck with a group of chosen ones and having to face the big bad, assisting the main protagonists of the story. Coop online, detailed customisation, base building, mystery, betrayal and an intriguing love triangle was also present. I invested about 1800 hours into it, loved not being the hero for once. Ofc a sequel followed that turned the entire thing into the most cliché shit ever (multiplayer was still great tho), but that first game gave me lifelong friends, feelings and memories no other could replicate since.
I'm a left leaning person who supports most of the stuff wokeism is supposedly all about, but I still can't stand this stuff. LGBTQ people are a very small minority so every companion being into same sex romance is absurd. The Sword Coast has long-established racial and ethnicity lore and descriptions which makes it clear that humans there are 99%+ white, but the human NPCs in the game seem to be non-white half the time. And don't even get me started on elves and dwarves with dark brown skin and kinky hair (that's not a thing in Faerun ffs!). There is no such thing as verisimilitude in woke fantasy, and it's incredibly annoying.
I'm okay with every character being okay with same sex romance. A complaint I have about Mass Effect is that I can't romance any character I want. If I play as FemShep, I can't romance Ashley in Mass Effect 1 or Miranda in Mass Effect 2. If the devs want to make it more difficult to romance certain characters, that's fine, but they shouldn't be impossible. It's a game, after all. I should be able to have the relationships that I want. Games don't have to reflect reality.

I'm done with modern videogames. No joke. I pulled out my PS3 last year. Eff the graphics I just want to play something fun without rainbows shoved down my throat.
I also was about to quit gaming for good because all modern games cater to women and the LGBTQ community now. However then I just started playing old games again and fell in love with gaming again. It´s like being treated to a 5 star healthy meal by a world renowned masterchef vs. an endless buffet of junk food that has all kinds of chemicals in it (modern games/wokeism).

I really like bg3 , yes I didn't like the fact everyone wants to fuck me , I played as Wyll and he does feel like the main character, I want a second run when I finished this playthrough as the dark urge and I wanna doom the whole world with him.
That's an interesting take. I politely disagree with your conclusion though. To some people, being able to immerse into a single-cultural universe, where all races share the same culture and traits, can be escapism too. Actually, I would argue that a world where LGBT characters are just as common as cis-hetero characters, is very far from our reality, and thus a place where people would legitimately want to escape and immerse themselves in.
Really goes to show that if you abuse people enough, even the smallest alleviation will be met with endless praise. People used to be unafraid to properly criticize a games flaws like unfinished plot lines, unsatisfying endings, and numerous bugs. But now after years of defamation against NOTICING, people will just accept any nonsense. Just how much will people take before they just say no? I've always heard people complain when spouses don't leave abusive relationships, but recent times have shown just hard it can be to say no to the manipulation, and leave people who just want to use you.
I agree, to that I extend I wished gaming sphere was more like the comic & movie fandoms who just stopped supporting all that woke crap. I think yes, it is difficult to stand out in terms of consumption choices. I don't know what's missing to create the spark. What does it take to make educated decisions? How is it that it's easier to pay attention to a mainstream AAA shooter than to an Ion Fury, Prodeus, or even ReCore, on a global scale? I regularly spend 60 to 70 dollars on old and independent games (mostly I get more than 5 games in one purchase) instead of buying only one blockbuster. Sure, everybody 'knows,' but has everybody gained the maturity, the willingness to get 'bored,' or to face any kind of disillusion (maybe face themselves, who knows)? AAA games are sure pro to make us think that there is always something to do, yes?
True for the most part, but for once this is a game with completed endings and full content of story dialog and well as complex battle and options. As a game itself, it’s what most consumers have been begging for. A complete game without micro transactions and additional payed content just to know the end of the story. It’s all there and it’s all done. Yes, yes the occasional bug, but they have been doing good on fixing things fast which is nice. Most other games if this time have gotten game consumers so used to accepting micro transactions and. Dealing with hundreds of dollars worth of payments just to finish the games story or continued content followed by another game. It’s nice not seeing any of that with BG3. I understand most people are strongly upset with how diverse BG3’s player base and gameplay is. A majority are happy with the options and ability to be and do whatever it is you want, while others are strongly upset that it’s not a black and white style of gameplay that only shows what they want to see and not all the other nonsense they don’t agree with. BG3 is after all a 2023 game. I wouldn’t call the supporting of diversity a manipulation, compared to the other issues a lot of other games have as referenced before (micro transactions, unfinished gameplay…ect.) But I can understand how some are seeing it as something they wish didn’t have to come across for such a full fledged game, thus this rant about “woke” things. This game is in some ways one of a kind as far as games in this era seem. It’s causes a lot of different opinions and arguments. We can only hope that because of this us as gamers can see more higher quality of games with options for the other side of the spectrum, those who just want a simple game without the added extreme diversity. I’m ok with this game and all it has to offer, that doesn’t mean I don’t also understand why some people are upset by the game.

The Game is good, very enjoyable, but they really overdid it with the LGBT. I wish they'd have added Characters that are Anti-Lgbt aswell due to religious reasons or something, but that would have taken balls. It is a Fantasy Game, let the player decide but all points should exist. No exceptions due to sentimentalities. Like why is all of Faerun suddenly bi? And i heard way way too many male characters talk about "their husband"
It's extremely hilarious that with all these diversity and inclusion options, most players just played a white human/half-elf. With around 90% of male PC chose Shadowheart (white half-elf woman) to romance.
They did, and Larian made a dev update post during early access calling people out for making white males and demanding they make more rainbow-colored twee monster race they/them characters. Another reason to, y'know, not support them, but I guess that's "cringe".
It's not that people are "obsessed with politics" - politics is now obsessed with every aspect and juncture of people's lives. It's unavoidable. Edit: For decades normal people avoided politics, and scurried off to ever dwindling burrows of escapism. Now there's no where left to escape to.

It's very telling that all the GOTY contenders are basically all remasters or sequels. The big problem I think is games cost more to develop than big movie budgets now so no one wants to take any risks. Thankfully there's good indie stuff like Colony Ship that's willing to push forward with new IP in a unique setting.

Honestly one of the only recent games to fully immerse me even though the game is filled with allegory was Disco Elysium. That is how you make a political game, the setting is similar enough to our world for things to have some inherent allegorical meaning, but the world is just weird enough for it to be its own thing. It also helps that the devs take the piss on all political opinions because your character always goes for the most extreme worldview available to him.
Im basically bored to death and not wanting to finish the game as you mentioned. The reason being that i hit max level (lvl 12 cap wtf?) early in act 3. and so its just not that fun to do these quests when my main character has no more real progression, and the story has taken such weird turns, the emperor trying to bang me, and other stuff.. i just cant take the plot seriously at all..
@@phoenixxxashez he's a bit of an old school gamer, who prefers more gameplay less cout-scenes, but I think he's a bit wrong on FF16. That is exactly the fantasy game as it should be! it was quite low on the propaganda too.
@@ArgentWolf95 Yeah, I think Naoki Yoshida definitely knew what he's doing with FF16. He's choosing to go for a very traditional fantasy theme with traditional character designs, because that's the niche that Final Fantasy has over Western fantasy settings. The themes are old school, but the story delivery and systems are innovative. It's a solid game.

Its not "a tiny bit of wokeness ruins the game", its "giving a pass to a tiny bit of wokeness now means more in the future". Maybe the wokeness isn't that bad in BG3. But now that everyone has shown they are fine with it, they'll ramp it up further in BG4. We've seen this repeat over and over, and not just with wokeness. Just look at the video game industry as a whole. Broken launches are the norm, cash shop, dlc, season pass, deluxe edition, premium currencies etc. It wasn't like that 10 years ago.
I couldn't help but notice your Persona 5 Joker pfp. Genuine question. Would you consider that game to be woke in some aspects? Most of the fanbase is very left wing from what I've seen and one of the core themes is about societal change/reformation. Not trying to be hostile. Nothing about it is specifically left wing or right wing. It's just a result of Japanese culture being extremely rigid, hierarchical and authoritarian, meaning people rage against that in their art. Its why anime is so dynamic and expressive. Its an outlet, for both the artist and the consumer. The game heavily shies away from any actual political takes. You can befriend a politician, yet I don't think he ever mentions a single actual policy proposal. There is a drag queen in the game, but that's a Japanese cultural thing that isn't the same as the modern Western drag queen and has featured in anime and games for decades such as Gintama and Yakuza. The only real wokeness is the English localisation changes done for Royal, but I only played the original.

Even when something isn't explicitly woke, modern writers often don't know how to write realistic, relatable male and female characters anymore. The same is true of ethnicity. Rather than create a world featuring distinct ethnic groups from different lands (true diversity), they just use tokenistic, quota-style diversity to make every village, city and nation look like a packet of skittles, so everywhere feels like nowhere. To be fair, censorship has always been around. You had Nintendo in the 80s and 90s. Then Sony and Microsoft would censor some games in specific regions in the 2000s like God of War in Europe or Indigo Prophecy in the US. There was a brief censorship free era from 2009 to 2015 but it quicky came back with anime tiddy being the target. Though, mod censorship is new but this is what happens when redditors take over places like nexusmods.

Sword and sorcery as a style stands out because anything that's magical is almost surely dangerous. So there's not as much design and power creep. And because there's no power creep things are somewhat more grounded so you'll end with more dudes fighting to survive. Compared to high fantasy murder magical hobos saving the galaxy. If you want an example of that go take a look at early World of Warcraft and compare it's story and setting now.

These games suck and are un immersive. I’ll keep playing games from non woke studios as they come out.
Buy physical originals while you still can. I fully expect these studios to go back and cut out any “not safe” material from their games, and then remove access to the original versions. Which is what is happening to a lot of old TV shows now.

About your "Obsession with Politics" point. I have to say I kind of disagree with that considering there are clearly games today that outright shove the woke agenda and message down your throat and there are games that MAY happen to have a few sliders or things that can be ignored and be largely enjoyed. BG3 is clearly the former. You played both Hogwarts and Baldur's Gate 3. So have I. And I think we both can agree that on the woke-o-meter BG3 levels higher than Hogwarts. So I think one can comfortably say to avoid BG3 because of the absolute inundation of unavoidable woke content in it even if it is fun just on principle. You also mention burrowing ourselves into a hole of negativity every time we avoid content because it's woke, but I really beg to differ. You don't know how many movies, TV shows and games I've skipped over the past 5 years because of high saturation of woke content but I'm telling you it's liberating. Not only was I forced to look for ACTUAL QUALITY content which I've come appreciate A LOT after finding it, I also get the benefits of saving my time and focusing on work and other things which are more important anyway. It's a little like junk food being bad for you anyway but now you have a stronger reason to avoid or seek better alternatives. Last but not least, you don't really miss what you don't even try and in this propaganda filled world, I'm more than happy to "miss" content even though I might have x% of fun with it if it means forcing myself to bear the sourness too. And we've always done that, and we most definitely should do that with wokeness, if anything, because giving these types of content and companies a pass is exactly what got us here in the first place. Aside from all that, some feedback I'd like to give you with your reviews/videos is that it would also be nice if you could more frequently inform people(like me) about whether the woke content can actually be avoided. You did this with Hogwarts and some other games and content and I appreciated it but I'd like to see more. Most of the time these “woke” games wouldn’t be good even if those elements were gone anyway. They’re still either bland or bad games not worth playing at their core. Being woke is just _another_ reason to avoid them, and usually a sign that they’re going to suck. The only reason I might be fine with an “average” game is because some element appeals to me specifically.
I'm that kind of people. And I take a break from black pill by going out touching grass riding my bike. Not playing a woke game just because of it's fantasy element.
