This was so much fun to be a part of, and so incredibly messy just from the sheer amount of dirt and fake blood we had caked on. Worth it, to be shot and proceed to lay in more dirt. Zombie goals.

My flatmates would barely let me in the apartment, I had to take off as many layers as I could and throw it into the laundry sink then I was sent straight to the bathroom do not pass Go. Shoutout to the Uber Driver that drove me to set though that didn't care I was already covered in fake blood I made at home. I'm sorry for your car. Lol.

I was so impressed by how little 'manipulation' went into filming this - for example, I thought for sure Burnie's commentary was recorded afterwards but everything was done in real time, and with the exception of a technical issue with the guns/locks, there were no significant re-takes. 10/10, would zombie again.

Immersion idea: assassins creed multiplayer. 4 lab rats must kill each other with out being seen. Each lab rat has a costume that npcs are also wearing and use gps tracking devices to locate other lab rats.

Michael and Gavin’s friendship is so good. They were flat out told it was a competition and the whole time they’re supporting each other, not rushing Gavin, Gavin doing his best to keep Michael safe, the check ins. Awesome teamwork. TEAM NICE DYNAMITE!

Hey, mad props to Gavin and Michael for this one, really. Can't speak from experience obviously, but being as relatively accurate as they are while the blood is rushing to your head and making you dizzy from being hung upside-down has to be difficult. I doubt I'd even hit a stationary target in that situation. Then there's the disoriented relaoding they had to do and what-not. Awesome Immersion to see

6:38 I've been paying attention over the years, and can relate to, that Michael trembles and sweats easily.. I find myself using my other hand to help stabilize a lot of specifically light objects, in an environment where you have to perform, it can get real out of hand (all puns intended)

A control sample is basically for benchmark. We know how many zombies Michael can shoot upside down but we don't actually know if that's an improvement or not compared to his usual shooting accuracy

I feel they went about this experiment all wrong. They were testing whether being upside down made your accuracy worse, but they didn't have anything with which to compare their results. They should have had a series of targets that both participants shot at to see how their accuracy is while right side up. Then they should have shot at the same targets upside down and compared the results. They would have also needed to run through multiple times to get an average. I am starting to think these guys aren't actually scientists.

Doing it right side up would've been redundant, they already know they would have 90%-100% accuracy if it was just a straight up target range. What they did wrong was using walking dead zombies and not the last of us zombies

i cant find info on it, but has RT ever explained why immersion is so short? this is a show that could easily be 20-30 minutes long. There have even been immersions with obvious cut content. I understand when TV gameshows cut content from obstacle courses, because they have time constraints. However this is the internet...

Yeah, I could have told you before the experiment started that shooting upside down won't effect your aim much, especially if it's *you* shooting (not you sitting upright shooting for a character that's upside down). It's the inability to easily re-orient yourself that's the main problem. Games just compensate for this by doing it for you.

Factors this fails to take into account: 1) The disorientation of cracking your skull against the ground as you're unexpectedly whipped off your feet into the air 2) The weight and recoil of a revolver and having to stuff 6 more lil bullets into it after every 6 shots 3) Infected in the Last of Us SPRINT, rather than shuffle 4) The revolver needs about 3 bodyshots to down an infected, rather than one and done Ways you could achieve this in a simulation are 1) Spinning someone around very fast then abruptly stopping them when the round starts, rather than risking a concussion or worse by yanking them up 2) Finding a more accurate paint ball gun/etc in terms of weight and ammo capacity(not into that kind of stuff but I'm sure they exist or you can probably add weight yourself) 3) Have your zombies sprint instead of shuffle 4) Require 3 body/limb shots(or one shot to a small mark on the chest since you probably shouldn't shoot anyone in the head regardless of what you're shooting) before your zombies go down

What I don't get is why Michael didn't run towards Gavin so he could help orient Gavin the way he should be facing and give him some stability. This also helps because now Gavin only has to prioritize zombies coming at him instead of him and the safe. In a pinch I'd also just give the upright one the gun but that does defeat the purpose of the experiment.

deathweapon247 I don't think a toy gun would reach that far of a distance if they were to increase the speed and room size. They also had to figure out the lock codes for each one. Running would have made it worse because less zombies and an injury could have happened. Smarter and better they went with this choice ;)

They also aren't zombies in LoU. You can kill them with body shots, and there's no indication that they're undead whatsoever. People are so used to RE zombies that they label anything that is infected and can run as a "zombie."
