Raphael: "I have noticed in America...they take a common ingredient...and they take it too far..."" In a few short months this young man has found the essence of the United States. Well done!
@@camdynsprite5363 😂😂 your comment is hilarious. It was a simple TRUE statement. I didn’t take it as rude or offensive and I myself am a born and raised American.
They do make the raisin bread without raisins,it's called cinnamon swirl and they also have it at Walmart...love to see you trying things we think of as normal here so I love this video...God Bless Rapha 🙏🏻
They have a cinnamon swirl bread without the raisins. Toast it and it makes the best pb&j. Ok go make chocolate pudding, put in oreo pie crust refrigerate, top with fresh whipped cream or canned and sprinkle top with crushed or shaved chocolate. It is so decadent.
I really like this videos cuz where I live we dont have any of these! Almost every thing we have is made here so there is not much just the normal stuff It dosent even tast that good tho any time we get something that wasnt made here its always much much better Also people like your videos just cuz you are you keep up the great work
Funny and adorable how you were so amazed by the loaves. We have lots of flavored bread loaves in the Philippines that you'll surely find interesting. Next time you go here, scour the supermarkets, you'll enjoy it! 😊
Raphael, put a can of Rotel in the Velveeta next time!! And seriously, your videos are AMAZING!! 👏 👏 Your reactions are priceless 🤣 I think we Americans are just accustomed to weird food but Your fresh perspective is LIFE!! And hey, if we're going to h€ll, do whatever that thought was with the spicy & sweet marshmallow and trick or treating!!! 🤣🤣 OH, and now you need to make a S'more with the chocolate stuffed puff!!
So put a spoonful of salsa with the velveta and melt together. Toast the chocolate stuffed marshmallow over the burner and eat it on a graham cracker. There is a cinnamon swirl bread without raisins. There’s also a pumpkin cinnamon swirl bread that’s amazing. Try making French toast with the swirl breads
I mean, he wasn't wrong. That's part of the weird charm of Americans. We are the embodiment of "Hold My Beer: The Weirdening". You never know what they're going to do next and you're 86% certain it will be sacriligious in one way or another.
The culture differences surrounding food and health is so interesting. In high school, I worked at a grocery store that employed foreign exchange students from Europe and I'll never forget when one of them was completely shocked by the size of a customer she had seen. She wasn't being mean, but literally had never seen a person close to that size. She was even more shocked when I was completely unamused because I've seen people that size and bigger a million times. Years later, I spent 3 weeks in Poland and was amazed at how people would go to the market every morning to get fresh produce for the day. Spending that time there changed my eating habits for the better.
i live and have lived my whole life in morocco, but i have an american dad, and a lot of american friends, yet its still shocking to me how bizarre (no offense) americas foods and way of eating is, like how common takeout is while here its a once in a while thing, not because of finances but bc ppl here just..cook, we all go to the farmers markets for most ingredients (unless its flour or snacks etc) but for veggies and fruits we go to the farmers market, and bread is baked at home most of the time, we get eggs from the chicken market and meat from the butcher shop not the grocery store etc. then make homemade meals nearly everyday for every meal especially for people who live with families. so i just dont understand why this is so difficult to maintain in the us or why fresh ingredients and such are so much more expensive than shitty grocery store plastic food
@@Fatcat561 Honestly? The majority of the American populace are wage slaves and do not have the time. Because being able to cook every day is uncommon, as a result, prices skew like crazy because demand is different
Where I live doctors nag to eat fresh food not processed but the only nearby stores are Dollar Stores, the grocery stores are in the county seat and the next county so most people have to live off junk food and microwave stuff because of gas prices.
Leave it to Raphael to introduce me to things I didn’t know existed and I live in America 😭 I’m also trying to wrap my head around how shocked he was about pré-made pie crust ✨ wholesome✨but sadly he’s slowly learning how lazy we are 😭
Him discovering Velveeta is giving me LIFE. Honestly just throw some jalapeños and maybe a can of Rotel and you have a quick, cheap dip that ADMITTEDLY is not the best, but she works on a budget.
@@zuzuxzu The ingredients listed for Velveeta are: milk, water, whey, milk protein concentrate, milkfat, whey protein concentrate, sodium phosphate, and 2% or less of salt, calcium phosphate, lactic acid, sorbic acid, sodium citrate, sodium alginate, enzymes, apocarotenal, annatto, and cheese culture. A cheese culture is basically a "cheese starter" kinda like how yeast is a starter for bread. So it's mostly just preservatives, dehydrated milk, and the stuff you need to start making cheese. That's why it's not "officially" listed as cheese. It still melts around like, I think 70 degrees or so, which is why room temp is usually fine.
He's just so genuine, it's a pleasure to see him again after a long time not showing up on my notifs ✨ hoping life treats him great in America and wishing him the best 🥺
honestly, as another american immigrant this kind of content is perfectly tailored to me lol, I see those things in the supermarket and they're intriguing but I wouldn't buy them, so thanks for trying them, I might buy some of those next time
I'm also an immigrant, and since the beginning I was shocked by the amount of sugar they put in their products, so I stopped buying this kinds of things. But definitely I'm going to try some of these Rafael is recommended. Rafael thanks for trying these for us.
Lol I bet his mind would be blown if he knew we used to get served the sausage pancake thing in elementary/middle/highschool for breakfast once a week. 😂
You are brilliant!😁 As a european i really enjoy these videos bc it never fails to surprise me what on earth is possible in America🤣. Love and hug from Prague!🥰
As a person living in Germany, I am shocked 😂 There's so so much I've never heard of but I'd love to try!😋 Might not be the healthiest but it sounds so interesting 😍 I just enjoyed this video so much :))
When you said “pizza pop tart” I was like OH THAT NEEDS TO EXIST then I remembered Hot Pockets are a thing 🤣 Edit: melt the Velveeta then put some chunky salsa in it!
@@kevotnta when you melt a block of velveeta with a can of chili, jar of salsa, or can of rotel tomatoes it makes a really great dip. They're best if served warm. Yes, you can buy canned or jar dips but my family prefers to make these.
When you said "It's not huge but I'm sure it'll be enough, I'm sure it'll do the job." I was waiting in anticipation for you to follow up with "That's what she said." Lol, love you Raph!!!
Can you also go to Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods and do a video of things that us healthier Americans regularly consume? 😂 still has fun flavored stuff 😅
I love this kind of video. As an American it's so fun to see other people's reactions to things I've seen my whole life. And definitely make a video of you making Christmas or even thanksgiving dinner
Why do we like watching it? The quirky jokes, the facial expressions, your positive persona, the opinions on the food, your sheer honesty. You could review anything and I'd watch.
For the Oreo crust it's good to put chocolate pudding in it and cool whip on top and shaved chocolate 😋 and with the uncrustables I like it when it's still half frozen so when you take a bite the peanut butter is still crunchy 🙃
My family calls them breakfast corn dogs but they are much better if you put them in an oven or an air fryer so the outside breading is crispy you will love it You should get the sour patch and marshmallows they are so yummy
The breakfast corn dogs need to be dipped in syrup Raph!!! 😅😂 Also for velveeta you have to use rotel with it to make con queso 👌🏻 The variety of marshmallows is because we do s’mores summer till end of Fall and we like getting creative 😌Also for those people who wanna do the same but with Hot Cocoa. But I’ve never seen the spicy ones that’s wild 😂
lmao I refuse to buy Velveeta because I've heard of how fake it is (hence being a "cheese product" not kept in the fridge) but wow after his reaction, I might reconsider. You always learn something new everyday, even in your own country! 😄 *EDIT: I just got to the dipping snacks part of the video, and his reaction to the pretzel sticks breaking his tooth cracked me up. I don't know what pretzels are like in Europe, but pretzel snacks here are always hard and crunchy. If you want the stadium type of pretzel, you are looking for a SOFT pretzel. They are way bigger with big salt crystals and usually you dip it in a loose cheese sauce, lol
Love your reaction to Velveeta. I use it for MANY applications and can "invent" new recipes. It's a very forgiving item. I like to dip my breakfast "corn dogs" in syrup or jams.
I enjoyed this video & would be like to see the other stuff you bought. It's so fun to see your excitement about our (American) products. // Also, you asked if we'd like to see you cook a Christmas dinner. Yup!
Oh Raphael 😂 you bring so much fun to your videos. Your description of the Kristin Kreme bites is hilarious. Now all I can picture is a child rolling them around in the sand and then making a Sandcastle with them. Your descriptions of the energy drinks, the puff corn, and all the breakfast items are perfect. You make me want to buy a lot of the items🤣 Please do more of this series because they’re such a good time. Actually, everything you do is terrific and I love watching you. I’m so glad you’re enjoying America. Love you Rapha🥰
Your Velveeta experience is hilarious to watch.... it is one of those weird foods we have that seems so wrong but actually works well. Even as a vegan who hasn't had it in decades, your description reminded me of pleasant childhood memories of making Mac and cheese with my friend and how fun Velveeta was as a texture. Also it's just a super consistent flavor you can rely on. Iirc one of my favorite ways to eat it was to warm it up and then mix in some salsa as a nice chip dip
considering velveeta has been around for decades, i believe it was around when my mother was a child and maybe in my grandmother's time, that is one of the few convenience foods which has proven to be time tested
Honestly, at this point there are WAY too many choices in grocery stores in the US. It makes grocery shopping a lot more difficult than it used to be. Still, I love your take on the monstrosity that is American food culture! ❤
😭these remind me of myself when i was 7 , mixing my mums lotions to make some sort of new goo😭😭, like who even comes up with these recipes?? like some of these seem outrageous and kinda disgusting (I'm not trying to offend anyone ), but who eats pancake with hotdogs??
@@advlia686 you’ve never heard of a corn dog? Plus that’s a regular breakfast for us here, even when it’s not combined. Pancakes, sausage, and maybe eggs or hashbrowns as another course
Europe has a lot of VERY similar foods that you say is not a thing in Europe. For example the mashed potato cups are sold in Europe under Maggi and Knorr with the same idea. It is powder potato and you just put boiling water from a kettle instead of cold water and then microwave it. We have flavored breads too.. Of course we are not putting cheese and ham on a banana bread or chocolate raisin bread. Velveeta cheese is just small pieces of American cheese separately wrapped and found in every European shop which is popular too. We have many varieties of those small box snacks from savory to sweet.
It probably depends very much on the country. I live in the Netherlands and there’s a lot of things in this video that I haven’t seen in our stores before.
Sorry to break it to you but Velveeta is NOT American cheese. That's the sort of thing you say if you haven't tried both of them. Everyone thinks that until they actually try it. They're very different.
Love watching your videos, your childlike enthusiasm at american consumerism and over the top products makes me look at them differently now. Thanks… keep doing what you do! ❤️
I was enjoying this nicely until we got to the Philly Cheesesteak Pringles. Then I lost it!!😂 His rotten beef stew in his Instant Pot!! I can’t!! I just love this guy so much.❤
The realization that hits when you try the Velveeta for the first time was so satisfying!! I'm sitting here, knowing how life changing it is and your reaction confirmed what we Americans already know!
Using velveeta for a grilled cheese seems so wrong in the most brilliantly discovered way. This is something I'd never think to try but now I HAVE to. Thanks Raph, you're beyond awesome😂💙
Been waiting for a new video 😅 you never disappoint lol. Your reactions to things and how you describe your feelings is fantasticly detailed and so funny. 😭🤣 Gave me a good laugh for sure! Pleaseee keeping making videos like this! I have lived in US my whole life and a lot of what you’ve tried I was curious but never bought so it’s interesting to see your reaction and take on them! Also, would love to see your Christmas dinner and other big holidays like Thanksgiving and Easter!
You can actually get cinnamon raisin bread in England too, I love it so much! I just toast it and put some butter on it. Also, instant mash is another thing that is a thing in the UK, I didn't know about it until my friend said she had it before 😂
Cinnamon raisin bread is available in the US at Pennsylvania Dutch markets. You can get it plain, or with frosting. I prefer the plain, toasted, with a light coating of cream cheese or apple butter.
You are seriously my favorite!!! I had a rough day and needed to smile/laugh and this definitely didn’t disappoint. Thanks for always making my day better!
If you warm those puffed marshmallows the chocolate will melt when you bite into them. I actually discovered it by accident but now I do it all the time. Also they are perfect for making s'mores. 😊
They DO make cinnamon bread without raisins... you can find several brands just at Walmart. It is amazing plain or with a touch of butter. My grandpa always used it to make a sausage sandwich for breakfast. Also, I grew up on Chicken in a Biscuit because my mom LOVED them. We always had them with cream cheese spread on top.
I love these videos when you try weird American food creations because even as an American I've been apprehensive of many of them but seeing you like quite a few of them I'm willing, because of you, to give some of them a shot. Plus you're funny as hell
Korean pringles are also strange flavors like black pepper crab, creamy shrimp, butter caramel, sweet mayo cheese, bolognese spaghetti, cheese burger, pizza, rich butter garlic, etc
I am positive some of these are really tasty and i would eat so many of them, but some of them just sound so crazy and i enjoy watching these crazy food inventions to much 😂 Also please do a video with weird canned food 😂
Great video! I’d love to see the rest, seeing you discover these “normal foods” through new eyes is so entertaining. We forget how weird our stuff really is. And the Kristy Kreme packaged donuts, or any for that matter..my soul just dies a little. I don’t think they should classify as food. 😂
Yes, they make the bread without raisins. But, you should give the raisin version a try. I hate raisins, too. But not in that bread. Somehow it changes and goes so well together. Just toasty a slice, butter it and eat it as is. It, I eat mine with cream cheese as well. I think you'll love it with the raisins. Lol
You need to try the Bang energy drinks. They have a bunch of weird flavors like key lime pie, cotton candy, birthday cake, unicorn, etc. The key lime pie one is so good. You can seriously even taste the graham cracker crust in it.
bang energy drinks are so so so bad for you though. like absolutely horrible. if you want a good energy drink/ workout stuff, try bucked up. they’re amazing, the energy drinks actually have good quality ingredients that aren’t going to slowly kill you. trust me, i’ve done chemistry experiments on bang energy and i’ve talked to several people who have done research on bang energy ingredients, they’re horrible. also they recently got sued by Monster Energy for having absolutely horrible ingredients that have been the cause to deaths. paid 430 million
If you ever go to Chicago you have to try deep dish pizza, that's basically what the digiorno was trying to be. The sell bread without the raisins, it's cinnamon swirl. Overall I love these, I haven't even eaten some of these things, but the things I have it's crazy how I take some of the convenience for granted
22:16 Queen, have you not tried Dairylea Dunkers in the UK? Granted, we don’t do the whole dipping thing very often but Dunkers were a staple in primary school for Brits!
Pickle brine actually has some health benefits. You can eat in digestion and helps with leg cramps. When I was a kid they sold it at skating rinks frozen.
Looking forward to Part 2! I like thin crust pizzas, so I wouldn't buy the Digiorno Stuffed Crust, but I appreciate your honest review. Chicken in a Biscuit crackers were favorites from childhood. They're definitely different.
More please. I found bread in America very sweet. Also they couldn't understand me not liking coffee. I prefer tea and coffee once or twice every six month so fairly low on the coffee. I loved Fruil Loops. I could just snack on breakfast cereals all day. I'm surprised that America has these foods. I would love to hear more please.
They make the sausages in a plain pancake batter as well and it's good too I do believe there's a maple flavor to it. You can get the cinnamon raisin bread with no raisins, I don't like raisins either. I put some butter on it personally
The sausage wrapped in pancake is actually a pretty common thing, or at least here in the Philippines. You can find some "recipes" online doing this only with a hotdog. It's like a budget version of a corndog.
