I've never heard a song that hit me like Dance With The Devil. It just leaves you in a strange state no matter how many times you've heard it.

Everyone remembers the first time they heard this song. This in itself is power.

Dance with the Devil was my introduction to Immortal. Always felt and knew the first time I heard that track that story had to be real.

Never thought a song would make me feel physically sick till I heard Dance with the devil

This song made me not follow in the steps of close family and trying to… not fit in because when you are born and around it your just molded and it comes not second nature and it’s normal but songs like this made you think twice and though I still did wicked things I made sure it wasn’t to the fucking extent of killing or raping or shit that I couldn’t live knowing I did. Robbed and stole and petty shit like that but I knew people who did far worst and im glad i was able to man up and now im 24 and just really at peace and trying to just work and get better.

I rmbr first hearing "dance w..." at 12-13 years old. Early 2000s. First small glimpse into the real world. Loved the track, but after awhile couldnt listen to it anymore. Like brotha lynch & his lyrics bout eating the newly-born. Bad juju. Another interesting thing about the track is that it samples harry mancini's theme song for a romance movie called "love story."

Song saved my life in high school I started thinking twice about hanging with my primos who laughed because I got a job at Walmart. Two are dead and one is still locked up in HV "The devil grows inside the hearts of the selfish and wicked".

I wonder if he realizes how many lives he saved with this song. Some of us were dancing on the line of criminal activity as kids. Flirting with it, thinking shit was fun. Thank you immortal technique.

“Dance with the devil” is easily one of the greatest storytelling songs, not just in Hip Hop, but in any genre of music. The story is painted so vividly that I still can’t believe no one has tried to make it into a film.

When I first heard this song I was roaming the streets with people that were half or not even half way in. And occasionaly we met up with some real dark figures that we all feared but looked up to. This song helped me get out before I got in. I will never forget this.

Still the most haunting song I've ever heard. You listen, you recognize yourself and you get the conclusion that let's you sit there and think about life. Truly a masterpiece.

This was the first song I was introduced too the underground hip hop scene. fucked me up when I heard it in the lunch room.

Brooo I had chills go through my body when he said “they killed his son just to get to him at the funeral”. I had a family friend Tito who went through this same exact thing. He was an ex MS member who had left on bad terms. To be specific he was given a hit contract that he fulfilled but when he saw a little girl at the house he couldn’t shoot her so he packed up and left. 5-10years later (I was a kid so I forget how long he was on the run) he’s relocated and dating a friend of my mothers and his grown kids even immigrated here also. His son is still loosely affiliated and he goes on a job and is killed. Tito hears about this and instantly knows they are coming for him. One day after his sons death he’s shopping and sees an old acquaintance who stops to say “hello” he’s trying on boots and tells Tito that he’s looking for new black boots. That he wants them to be nice bc he will be attending another funeral soon. Then he asks Tito if he understands. Basically telling Tito I’ll be wearing new black boots to your funeral. Tito says he understands and he quickly leaves the store with my moms friend. A few weeks later he shot himself in the head in a park here in town bc he was tired of running and knew if he was alive they would keep coming after him, his kids, and his loved ones. Shit was rough. I had completely forgotten until I listened to this. I hope he’s at peace now.

I'll never forget how silent and still the crowd became when he performed this at a show in Minneapolis about 15 years ago. Such a powerful song.

I started listening to immortal technique when I was 15 years old and now I am 30 years old and still to this day listen to technique at least twice a week. He has songs that are timeless and classic. He has songs that resonate with me as a poor white boy who grew up in a Hispanic community. His message has been extremely helpful while navigating life & seeing the world for what it is, beyond the white and the black! I hope to every higher power known & unknown to man that he releases new music soon. We absolutely NEED a Revolutionary Vol. 3 album ✌️

The story told in Dance with the Devil is not that wild when you tour around the world and get exposed to realities that are nothing but soul breaking. That shit is happening right now, I assure you, in a lot of places. Long ago a 16-17 yo from my school stabbed his father 24 times in the back, killing him in the process, while he was r*ping him as a vengeance of abusing him and his mother for years and years. Then he walked into the closest police station and confessed what he had done. The woman took her own life a couple of weeks later. The boy followed her days after. Shit still wakes me up sometimes, and it happened like 15 years ago.

I’ll never forget my uncle showing me Immortal Technique it was 2007 or 2008 and he pops in this burned disc that said “Immortal Technique” on it and the first song that played was this one, I was only 11 😂 but I understood every fuckin word and that shit was powerful made me feel fucked up because I grew up in a bad neighborhood and my parents finally took us out and to hear this story was like a reminder like this is why we left “the hood”

Man I heard this song for the first time when I like 8 or 9. It was like watching The Exorcist in a dark room alone at 3am. Traumatizing... It made me have a lot of respect for Immortal Technique as an artist and being that I'll be 25 next month, I'm upset I haven't explored more of this man's music. Reality raps at its core. Respect.
