The sadest thing about qualified immunity is it contradicts 18:243. Why does a law exist about suing govt who violate rights if they are not allowed to sue. So as such, qualified immunity is a doctrine made by the supreme court to say we are the only legislative body in this government. No law exists until we agree with it. And we strike down thus law because we dont like it, not because there us any actual legal reason.

where in the Constitution does it say someone is obligated to go to the hospital for mental health issues? and since when Were police medical doctors and or psychologists? should have a crisis intervention available if what i heard was the true issue. And further more lying to someone is a breach of trust. Contract makes law so when a cop makes a verbal contract with someone he's agreed to he then breaches that contract no matter what when he's breach the trust of someone he/she's made the agreement with. Everyone knows that. Also I'd like to add "Law" in "Law Enforcement" means they must know the law to enforce it, because "IGNORANCE OF THE LAW is said to be NO EXCUSE to break it... Right? Also Policy isn't law. Policy is only for the employees of a business. It is being slipped in court and used when it should be a mute point. being the only one working for the police is a "officer of the court" working for a "Police Department" he's/she's the only employee. I don't think we should be trusting these bankrupt companies and those who work for them that are just profiting unto themselves. I don't like this case here is why it not only clearly establishes if not already that the police can be taken to court and possibly held accountable for lying to citizens. Shouldn't even need case law it's obvious police shouldn't be lying. But the attorney argued the police should be held accountable because they let someone put their own life in danger to try to save the life of a loved one. With this case law the next ulvalde the police will state we couldn't let the parents save their own kids because we will be liable if the get hurt and quote "Garcia VS. Marabel".
