8 minutes of malzi struggling with the Chaperal, just to end it with the irony of dying to a strela which, until yesterday, was somehow the same fucking BR as it.
@@komodorec4208 I mean at least it's beam-guiding and not IR guided. The only good thing about my newly bought Chaparral (i'm suffering) is that it can scout, and that's it. And kill drones! But otherwise you suck. It should be 9.0 at most, because getting uptiered means you'll have better SPAA teammates who will steal all your kills, better enemies, etc...
The sheer difference in missile maneuverability right off the rail between the strela and the chaparral is insane. It's absolutely mind-numbingly stupid that the strela was ONLY 9.3 br until yesterday.
Yeah the chap's guidance activation delay (the straight climbout) is killer. It'd work much, much better if they started pulling the moment they fired.
@@nightwing268 that's not saying much type 81c is not that good now at 11.0 it's just type 93 which has no range but with a missle that's able to be competitive it should be 10.3/7 not 11.0
Hey Malzi, keep up the grind please, I am enjoying your videos very much and get motivated by them to play WT and try new vehicles or grind towards them ^^ thank you and have a wonderful weekend everyone!
The MIM-72A/M48 Chaparral is an American-made self-propelled surface-to-air missile system based on the AIM-9 Sidewinder air-to-air missile system. The launcher is based on the M113 family of vehicles. It entered service with the United States Army in 1969 and was phased out between 1990 and 1998. It was intended to be used along with the M163 VADS, the Vulcan ADS covering short-range short-time engagements, and the Chaparral for longer range use.
If you’re willing to go through the grind to get it, the Israeli version is a bit more fun once you get the MIM-72G, it’s basically a MIM-72E but with the tracker system from the Stinger missile, so it has a further all aspect lock and IRCCM on top of the smokeless motor. Granted it’s still not the most amazing SPAA out there, but it’s decently fun and even usable at 11.7 which is where I use it the most given Israel doesn’t really have a 10.0-10.3 lineup
Malzi, if you see this, I’ve been a loyal fan for years. Thank you and I’m so happy to see your channel growing. However, for some reason, hearing the muffled Black Sabbath from the cobra flying over made me laugh ALMOST as hard as your BRUHHHHH #5 I think that was the KV 2 one. Can’t remember, and don’t feel like digging to make this comment hit POINT IS I LAUGHED MY ASS OFF AND I STILL LOVE YOUR CONTENT. Thank you for bringing joy weekly for the last 2 years Give or take. Again, I’m lazy. I feel like I’ve been watching your shit for years. Maybe I’m just stoned. Who knows LOVE YA
Pretty wild to have a SPAA above 8.0 w/ no radar. Reminds me of the m163... which shares a BR w/ russian spaa that DO have radar at 7.7... and constantly gets uptiered where it's completely outclassed and worthless.
I am just sad that toptier has become a hotspot for cheaters recently, or just new players immediately buying premium toptier vehicle...getting unalived once then back to the hangar they go.
The stormer HVM is much worse. You can only hit stuff pretty much flying in a straight line, your theoretical range is about 7km but past 5 km your missiles phase through planes 100% of the time, the after launch control delay of saclos missiles gives you a 1.5km deadzone in which hitting jets is impossible, if your sight gets obstructed even for 0.1 seconds you lose lock, locking on planes flying close to clouds or in foggy weather is almost impossible, when you actually manage to hit a plane most of the time you deal close to 0 damage to it, the slightest maneuver will make you miss because starstreak refuses to pull all the Gs it theoretically can unless you move your crosshair across the entire screen and despite having on of if not the fastest saclos missile in game the lack of proxy fuze makes hitting even slow targets like the su-25 a dice roll when they are flying away from you. On top of being a shitty at anti air duty, only ground vehicles you can kill without rng getting involved are light vehicles.
I think the Chapperal should be followed up by the Avenger system. 8 stinger missiles plus a .50 Cal that shoots at 1000RPM, on a HMMWV chassis. Given that stingers are better than in years past, I think it would be good.
Worst only because it has no defensive armament and a radar. Oh and that you can't lead the target or go off boresoght. I have really good luck with the upgraded missiles with no smoke trail though
I don't know how the hell Gaijin botched adding this thing. MIM 72 isn't the damn missile, MIM 72 is the designation for the SPAA. The thing is supposed to have AIM 9B missiles I believe it was.
Did an update mess with AA missiles? I feel like the LAV's FIM92ks just suck with tracking now too yet me in plane I cant avoid the strella no matter what I do lol Never used strella so I'm not sure if its laser or just guided by stalin
with strelas, either, you have to be quick and dump flares/chaff and spin out when you hear it or see it when it takes off and do evasive manuvers, i figured that out and managed to dodge 8 missiles in a single flight and kill about 3 strelas before reloading
I don't understand why XM whatever and ADATS are better than for example LAV AD. It is easier and much more reliable to shoot down helis or aircraft flying in a straight line away but if someone is maneuvering like crazy and/or is below 2km range it is impossible to shoot them down. LAV was so much more fun for me (its missiles, not talking about hydras and gatling)
Imp Chaparral I feel is underrated, It's not terrible, you just have to play its role more literally than other aa's and even then you can still scout whereas something like the lav'ad can't even scout not to mention the lock time is faster with the Chaparral too
