Gamera (my favorite Kaiju), a cross between Panzer Dragoon and Star Fox, crazy 90s techno, and cheesy 90s live-action cutscenes. It's like this game was made for me. I need it.
Holy shit even if it was crap I'd have to buy it for the cut scenes, but Panzer Dragoon with an Einhander/R-Type Delta/Ghost in the Shell PS1 aesthetic? Hells yesh!
Was this a Japan only release? Another good rail shooter is Vanark which got a JPN and NA release. I wish I had known this back in the day. I was so jealous we didnt get Panzer Dragoon or Star Fox style games, yet we did. Now if only the Dreamcast would have gotten a few of these style games.
Hey dude! Absolutely love the videos and are using all of yours as a guide as I'm heading to japan from south africa...I'm really wanting to get a virtual boy....is there somewhere you can recommend where I would more then likely get one? Heading to osaka, kyoto and Tokyo:)
I´ve only been to Japan once, but I got the impression that rarer systems seldom show up in the smaller shops. You probably have the best chance to find a Virtual Boy in one of the bigger shops of Akihabara or in osaka´s Den Den town.
That’s great, enjoy yourself with or without Virtual Boy. Lots of stuff to look at in Japan. Shop around if you have time, I think Trader, Surugaya & Beep has better prices than other stores in Akihabara. But to find a Virtual Boy you may have to go to Super Potato...

Hard Off:s are very hit and miss, not worth going to if you’re after a specific system like Virtual Boy. I went to one Hard Off during my stay and the best thing about that was walking through a Japanese neighbourhood I wouldn’t have seen otherwise. The game selection was meagre... If you stay a long time in Tokyo or Osaka, seek out some Surugaya stores outside of Den-Den or Akihabara. If your time is limited, go to well stocked (expensive) shops like Super Potato in both areas.
