Love that you have the year ago footage to compare. I know that has to be hard. I love your attitude towards the bugs- or virus. I’m only a year in and am experiencing my first case of bugs (spider mites). I was really worried about it happening to my 250+ plants. You give me confidence not to freak out.

Thank you so much! ♥️ unfortunately having pests is part of having (many) plants and I've learned that it's ok. Spider mites are pretty easy to get rid of, with good bugs or with spray (tho that is more work haha). You got this!

Thanks for the updates! The Billie is so cute, hope the leaves grow nice and large. The variegation looks like a Strawberry shake 😊

That last Anthurium (Pap) is very beautiful! Anthurium Luxurians has very strong/dominant genes, hence the similar looks in the hybrids (which I don't like too much as well). The Scindapsus and Billietiae are very nice too!

Hi Roos! So excited for this video! Ive never imported plants before but if i were to i would want an anthurium luxurians x papililaminum hybrid. Theyre so hard to find in the USA!

Your variegated Billie looks like it’s tissue culture which is who it’s growing a bit wonky-it’s still beautiful though that variegation is stunning! Try separating one of the plants and giving it its own pot to see if that’ll help size it up

Check my short from a few days ago 🤭✂️👌 I don't know if it's TC, and honestly I don't get why people think that makes it less nice than a non-TC. But they're separated and I put two on a moss pole 👌
@tiffanyi5645
@tiffanyi5645 4 месяца назад
I don’t think TC makes plants less nice. I do see that TC tends to change the growth habit of the plant in the early stages. Which is why I think your Billie is growing those multiple clusters of tiny leaves instead of the mostly symmetrical larger leaf/longer petioles that we usually see on Billies. Once the plant feels established I think it’ll probably grow more like a normal Billie. Again let me say that your plant is beautiful regardless, I’m definitely not hating on it! LOL

Thanks - when I got it I planted it way too deep in the soil, so the growth point couldn't continue. Thats why I assumed it made different growth points, cos it couldn't get out the soil. But that's just my thoughts, I didn't consider the tc way of growing as a possibility.

I have never imported. It took me awhile to order plants on line, and even now I order from larger companies that have a reputation to keep up. If I did import I would definately go for varigated plants as they are still expensive in the states.
@plantwithroos

Ah yeah it is tricky to find a trusted seller - I have some negative experiences with this from importing unfortunately. Plants got sent back to Indonesia twice (different companies), the first one I paid for and lost money on. The second was a gift so that makes it less sad but still.

My Billitiae Variegata from Botanika just doesn't do anything. The leaf that was already visible when i bought it doesn't move an inch. Has anyone an idea of the reasons why? It is at 65% humidity and under a plant lamp 😞 Nice video!
@plantwithroos
@plantwithroos 4 месяца назад
Hey, how long have you had it? Plants don't always grow (all the time) so it could be in a little pauze. It could also be focusing on growing roots, or recover from the stress of moving and the new environment, or maybe it doesn't have enough light (compared to the greenhouse it was in before).

Every time you handle the leaves, or especially the roots, with your fingers….I cringe a bit. Anthuriums absolutely hate being touched, and some of the damage seen (around the petiole) could be from over handling
@plantwithroos
@plantwithroos 3 месяца назад
I'm sorry it annoys you. Touching them is a big part of my plant experience, it makes me happy and feel connected to them. I am careful, especially with new leaves. It's worth it for me to possibly have some damage. ❤️
